Extras: The best extra was a 15:54 minute long Behind the Scenes feature where the shooting of the scenes was featured; the ladies engaging in a lot of solo action in the nude, typically wearing fetish outfits. Seeing some of the ways in which the artistic scenes were shot was more interesting than some of the scenes themselves, a few playful gals standing out as perfect examples of why Ninn can get them to do more than anyone else. There was also a single trailer and a slip caover for the case.

Audio/Video Quality: Nymphetamine Solamente was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Michael Ninn for Celluoid Addiction using 480i resolution and the MPEG-2 codec. The bitrate of the scenes hovered around the 6 Mbps range, keeping the picture clean most of the time; even at night. The opening tease portion of each of the five scenes was a montage with rapid editing and attempts at style but the majority of the scenes were pretty straightforward overall. The lighting helped keep the grain and video noise to a minimum, the camera angles enhanced the look of most of the cast, and a fair amount of care was excised in the editing bay from the looks of it. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital with a 224 Kbps bitrate though the vocals were often erased in favor of varying musical interludes that ranged from experimental crud to pretty interesting tidbits worthy of a higher than average rating. The music was not consistent though so your mileage will vary considerably as to the value it did or did not add.

Body of Review: Michael Ninn is one of the few erotica directors on the market these days, most of his peers having made the jump to hardcore gonzo. Despite a very nasty legal battle involving his old partners and even the threat of having his "name" lost to them, he fought back and formed Celluoid Addiction in order to continue his long standing tradition of offering an alternative to the gonzo bump & grind flicks so commonly held up as the best the industry has to offer. I admit that I have had a love/hate relationship with his titles over the years, some of them so far gone to the artistic side that I wanted to puke while others so skillfully crafted that I still find them stroke worthy. His latest release is a title called Nymphetamine Solamente, essentially a solo companion piece to the company's first outing where the lesbian action was passed by in favor of solo masturbation scenes. What sets this one apart is literally the quality in casting, even Jana Cova shown in much more erotic light than she ever was during her contract years. While I have not seen the opening salvo in the series (titled merely "Nymphetamine"), this version harkens back to the Soloerotica Series that many of Ninn's fans appreciated over recent years, his game even better than expected though with something of an upgrade. Each gal got to share some solo time in several vignettes, a bit of talking going on at times to blend with the music. Keeping in mind that this was shot concurrently with the first volume in the series (therefore it had the same cast in the same location, just doing solo work), I would have preferred they be sold together but that's merely because it came across like a double dip in some ways. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Jana Cova, a personal favorite performer of mine, was up first as the beautiful blond strutted her stuff around the pool. She wore some fetish attire in some of the heavily edited clips and was completely nude in others, her hollow vocals capturing her personality quite readily even if the soft focus got in the way at times. I'd have licked her fingers clean given the heat of the scene, the editing not weakening it nearly as much as the old Celeste shot scenes did. Yum!

Scene Two: Jana Jordan, another attractive blond, was up next and I could see why Ninn was so fascinated with her awhile back, his former contract gal able to turn up the heat with dirty talk easier than Ms. Cova had previously. Her scene was far too short but it wasn't bad.

Scene Three: Charlie Laine, a brunette also known for her tease performances, was up next at night in a black dress, the gal coaxing the viewer to masturbate for her as she playfully described what she wanted us to do. The extended use of the platform in the pool was interesting (and over done given how many scenes took place here) but she was definitely a hotty with a smoking body.

Scene Four: Heather Carolin, a redhead wearing sexy garb at night, was subjected to too much slow motion for my tastes but added some diversity given the manner in which the scene was shot. If you like freckles, you will adore her.

Scene Five: Jennifer Dark, a seasoned veteran in porn at this writing, was up next in a daytime scene where she wore an expansive dress that was soon stripped off. The company website had a trailer featuring her for those that care, her alluring look certainly well placed in the movie. Yum!

Scene Six: Faye Reagan, the redheaded, freckle faced gal featured on the front cover, was up next as she followed the formula, starting off in a pensive pose but opening up as the scene progressed. The editing was even heavier this time but she seemed to be comfortable rubbing herself to orgasm, the music dominating her act for the majority of the scene, just like the others.

Scene Seven: Alyssa Reece, a girl next door type of brunette, showed off her sleek figure next, her old fashioned dress looking better on the floor than by the classy pool in sepia shot lighting. She seemed to be one of the more aurally focused gals to me but if you like them skinny, she will fit the bill.

Scene Eight: Celeste Star, a fantastic looking lady with beautiful eyes, was up next and given how little I have seen of her outside of material shot by Robby D. for Digital Playground, I found this scene another major winner for my libido in terms of strokability and replay value. Fetish garb or not, her curvy physique was alluring in a way that some of the others will never experience, the overly artistic manner in which her scene was shot not limiting the appeal of her performance. Sweet!

Scene Nine: Karlie Montana, another former regular in the various "Jack's Playground" titles, could be described equally well with what I said for the previous scene starring Celeste. Her talk of how she liked a guy to jerk off was certainly enough to merit an erection from me, the talk of a finger in her butt and soaking wet pussy was great!

Scene Ten: Georgia Jones, a smoking brunette shot with saturated colors, was last but not least as she provided a confrontational approach to the dirty talk. If you like skinny girls rather than curvy women, you will find her another treat but she just didn't do much for me here in this dusk scene by the pool.

Summary: Nymphetamine Solamente by director Michael Ninn for Celluoid Addiction was better than I initially expected, the casting superior and the technical values helping elevate the dynamic more than a little bit. I rated it as Recommended but I could see some of you finding it even more stroke worthy than that, the fancy artistic effects not generally going too far and the ladies allowed to offer some aural advice that made it better. In short, Nymphetamine Solamente was much like an upgrade to the well received Soloerotica Series, offering a breath of fresh air in an industry focused on cutting corners over offering titles catering to specific market niches. Jana Cova, Karlie Montana, Celeste Star, and a few others were the best reasons to get this one, my understanding that it compared favorably to the first volume in the series so give both a look.
