Audio/Video Quality: Fresh Jugs 8 was presented in a visually appealing anamorphic widescreen color using an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director David Perry for Zero Tolerance using the MPEG-2 codec employed by standard definition releases using 480 resolution. The lighting was modest here, showing some care but it was not as solid looking as some of David's best works of late, with enough variation to add some texture in a few of the six scenes. The grain was minimal as was the video noise and I got the impression that David was so into the women that the technical matters were overlooked at times. It was not perfect but this did enhance the replay value for me as it showed more care than usual. The bitrate tended to hover around the 5.1 Mbps area most of the time I paid any attention to it but the editing appeared to be a bit choppy at times, perhaps the movie was rushed a bit to release sooner (or on schedule). The composition of the scenes enhanced the look of the ladies, each of them used to softer lighting in recent scenes but not needing it for the purposes of this release, the opening tease done to music rather than include vocals. The sole audio track was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the standard 192 Kbps rate using a 48 kHz sampling rate most titles are mastered with, the aural experience fairly limited due to the nature of the gonzo shoot. There was no separation between the channels and the dynamic range was as truncated as ever, standard gonzo audio being okay for most consumers.

Body of Review: David Perry has been something of an icon in porn over the years, the man best known as a performer in foreign releases before starting to direct at Zero Tolerance several years ago. His latest title shipped to me was the recently released Fresh Jugs 8, the movie clearly focused on large, natural breasts as the common theme. I was only truly interested in this title for Gianna's scene but some of the others looked pretty good too, albeit not in Gianna's league when it comes to popularity. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Gianna Michaels, the fleshy cover gal that Xcritic named "best performer of the year" earlier this year, was up first and as part of a lineup of ladies advertised as having "100% all natural big boobs", she was a solid pick. Summary: Fresh Jugs 8 by director David Perry for Zero Tolerance started off very strongly, so strongly that I almost forgot who was directing the movie, but it quickly relapsed into the usual problems his movies have displayed in the past so I felt almost generous when I rated it as a Rent It. Gianna's scene was the sole purpose for checking this movie out though a few others displayed some minimal spark keeping them from becoming completely disposable, the idea that catering to a breast loving crowd without the same levels of chemistry, heat, passion or other connections between the performers striking me as problematic. In short, I found Fresh Jugs 8 a little stale given so much of the cast was acting like clock watching foreign whores, weakening the entire project substantially. If David really directed the Gianna scene without help, it shows he can do it when working with the right crew but unlike better directors, he can't get the best performances out of a mediocre (or worse) cast.
