Extras: With the movie lasting so long, I really didn't expect many extras, especially given the low bitrate of the production used to squeeze that footage into the dual layered disc. The first extra was a 4:51 minute long Behind the Scenes look at the movie (initially detailing a snowball/water fight between Justice and Jordan), then came a 4:49 minute long selection of "Lost Footage" where Codi tried picking up a local at the ski shop, a cumshot recap, a photogallery, some trailers, and a true double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Shane's World 41: Aspen was presented in an anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 ratio widescreen using the MPEG-2 codec with 480p resolution for Shane's World. As is usually the case, no editors or director were credited, the series having been shot in the past by some of the finest directors in the jizz biz while they learned their craft. In this instance, the crew were definitely on the low end of the scale though, the amount of grain and video noise often really bothersome due to low lighting conditions, the decision to let the couples have more realistic sex than the kind people want to jerk off to requiring the conditions set forth. The bitrate was also a lot lower on the dual layered disc in order to accommodate the sheer quantity of footage included, the surprising use of branching technology allowing the viewer to select from a B/G or G/G scene, the unselected pick displayed immediately afterwards. The audio was also presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate, limited separation and dynamic range noticed but it was still exactly what was expected. The background noise was high and I could not always hear what was said due to wind noise or a microphone too far from the performers but this was only an intermittent issue.

Body of Review: Shane's World has long been the company I felt knew how to bring back the kind of fun sexual exploits younger people prefer when watching porn. Other companies rely on cheesy storylines, half baked scenarios, and pairings that no one would believe could ever happen in the real world while they seem intent on bringing together various younger performers you could see hanging out and going at it together. Such was the case with Shane's World 41: Aspen, the company sending a group to the snow paradise to enjoy a vacation complete with all the trimmings (pun intended). The back of the box described the movie like this: "They say that Aspen is a city where beautiful women instinctively flock. Well that must be true because that's where the girls of Shane's World 41 went! Before hitting the slopes, Ann Marie Rios gets a hold of Justice Young's "ski pole" and works on her hand to mouth coordination. When our group hits the ice for some ice skating hyjinx they nearly kill poor Alex, the luscious Codi Carmichael is there to nurse him back to health. Hot blonde Madison Ivy couldn't decide between Jordan Ash and Georgia Jones so she winds up having sex with both! In true Shane's World fashion, our girls had lots of wild and crazy sex in the most unbelievable places. So break out your snowboard and skis and come join the Shane's World crew in Shane's World 41: Aspen." Okay, first off, the sex was all vaginal penetration and oral sex with the usual fingering and other playful antics. The sole lesbian pairing lasted just over 30 minutes and was kind of fun too, the primary act being the oral they provided each other. Second, the situations were often in beds or on couches with none of the usual public nudity or picking up strangers for handjobs, the relative lack of spontaneity weakening the overall effort even more than the technical values. Whoever was at the helm this time, be it during the shoot itself or in the editing bay, did a markedly mediocre job in many ways but the chemistry between the performers in most of the scenes was not bad at all, the sex more of a logical conclusion most of the time than is typical in a modern porno. These were the specific pairings for those that care but it seemed obvious that Madison and Jordan were attached to the hip more than any of the others.

Summary: Shane's World 41: Aspen by Shane's World was a very lengthy piece of work that was just a bit too mundane for my tastes compared to the zany antics of previous volumes. Despite some sexual chemistry on the part of the performers, the non-sex parts of the movie were a letdown given the lack of all the aspects that the series has provided in the past. Was part of that due to a lack of a leading gal driving the fun (like Casey, Delilah, Penny, or any of the other motivating ladies in the past)? Probably, but so much of the footage appeared to be all the boring parts of what happened, the replay value resulted in a rating of Rent It. In short, Shane's World 41: Aspen was a cute fuck flick to check out a single time but the visual aspects of the scenes and lack of anything special to merit replaying kept this as a holder volume in the series.
