Audio/Video Quality: Point of View Times Two was presented in the standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as most porn is shot these days, by director Jake Malone for Evil Angel in the MPEG-2 codec with 480p resolution. The picture was decent and showed some improvement over a few of his recent releases by using nice lighting, solid composition of most shots (making the women look more appealing than usual), and good fleshtones; looking as technically solid as any of his peers in the Evil Angel, even stable in the portions where the lighting was decent. The use of point of view (POV) camera angles was expected given the title, generally handled very well too (not many directors can fully participate and keep the camera steady these days). The bitrate it was offered in was hovering around the 3.6 Mbps range so it wasn't the best looking title of the day but still pretty decently made overall. Jake kept his rough edge and raw energy at full levels while addressing my concerns nicely, marking it as a turning point in his favor if he can keep the momentum going. The editing was minimal but jumpy at times and the darker themes of the flick were on the grainy side but I did not see many compression artifacts or edge enhancement so those of you with larger television sets may appreciate the picture more than usual. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English in 192 Kbps using a 48 kHz sampling rate and was generally well done although it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for a gonzo production. I could hear the gals moan, groan, and talk dirty so I was pleased with it but there wasn't any separation between the channels and the dynamic range wasn't all that great either.

Body of Review: Evil Angel is one of the companies that I champion much of the time due to the manner in which they serve a dedicated audience, each director the master of his own fate. Rather than try to be all things to all people, they distribute the works of guys like Jake Malone who provide hardcore smut to porn enthusiasts, foregoing the extra sales they might achieve in the short run by watering things down. Jake is best known for providing some of their edgier works, pushing the limits of the gals he admires so strongly, getting them off or at least giving the appearance of such so often that it is rare that any of his titles falls as short as the majority of titles on the market today. Jake's latest movie is one of his rare single disc efforts, a POV title that he himself stars in called Point of View Times Two. In short, Point of View Times Two was Jake Malone at his finest, drilling two hotties in each scene and showing enough excellent tease footage that even his detractors should be happy; his representation of the average male watching certainly better than most of us could do. Keep in mind that this was not one of his most extreme offerings so those looking for circus act sex might want to look towards his back catalog first but the quality of the show was decidedly appreciated overall.
