Extras: The first disc had no extras to speak of, allowing for the bitrate to be slightly higher on the footage displayed. The second disc was where all the extras action was at, the best extra being the 42:22 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage as shot by Jimmy Scaffnetti. Audio/Video Quality: This Butt's 4 U #5 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen the scenes were originally shot in by director Erik Everhard for distribution by Jules Jordan Video using the MPEG-2 codec (sporting 480 resolution). The quality of the visuals varied less than remember his last outing, the team of Everhard and Scaffnetti focusing more on the technical matters but maintaining the usual standards in terms of sexual energy and chemistry. The lighting was decent and that eliminated most of the problems associated with gonzo productions, Erik's works virtually always a few notches above the competition from what I've seen over the years. The editing by Brad Stark could have used some polishing up but the basics were covered handily, the end result pretty close to what I expected out of the show. The bitrate was all over the charts here with much of the footage coming in around the 4.7 Mbps range but there were not a lot of compression artifacts present that I could see. The audio was offered up in 2.0 Dolby Digital English using 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate but there was no separation noticed that I could figure out, and the dynamic range was pretty limited too; the scenes coming from quickly shot gonzo; the guerilla shooting style favored by pornographers everywhere. The limited music was brought forth by Nick Rangro, my suggestion being to forgo that aspect of the aural experience altogether.
