Extras: My favorite related extra was the 8:02 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Shylar Cobi. The footage really did not give a lot to work with but fans of the cast will appreciate seeing them prepare for their respective scenes all the same. There was then a sort of highlight reel from five scenes lasting 93:02 minutes and showing some of the best parts of the action (scene clips from Sugar, Bounce, and "The Set Up"). There was then a biography for Hanna Hilton, some trailers, spam, and a photogallery.

Audio/Video Quality: Porn Stars At Home was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Paul "Chuck Lords" Thomas for Vivid Entertainment using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec in 480p resolution. For those unfamiliar with his background, Paul is well known and well awarded in porn, a number of fans appreciating his better movies. This one was shot in 1080i high definition, the trio of cameramen attempting to do their best for the quickie project even despite a rapid time table. The editing was a bit choppy this time, Fletcher Martin probably doing his best with the varied footage shot from the three cameras. The composition of the camera angles was not optimal this time, catering to the director's need to make a movie more than shoot for the sex as most of his peers seem to do. The fleshtones were generally accurate and the DVD mastering was well done (the bitrate hovering around 3.6 Mbps), the visual appeal of the movie pretty solid thanks to Hanna's natural beauty. There was a company watermark that I wasn't too keen on but most of the camera work seemed to keep this in mind, keeping the majority of action far away from the lower right hand corner. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. For some reason, the levels were about the same as usual but aside from the added background noise, the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal track nonexistent. I liked the little bubblegum pop song added in for the soundtrack, the rest of the score somewhat forgettable.

Body of Review: Paul "Chuck Lords" Thomas is one of the most award winning directors in all of porn over his 30+ year career, most of it spent at Vivid Entertainment. While I generally find a great deal of fault with his lower budget productions, that is only because I care to watch the best material available, my belief that sexually stimulating scenes should be the focus of such movies rather than the FFF (fast forward fodder) that most people speed past even the first time they check out a porn flick. That said, I took a dive into the bin to find a few slightly older flicks of his that had been initially planned for someone else, their loss equally my gain (or so I thought). One of those titles was Porn Stars At Home, a sort of mockumentary starring lovely Hanna Hilton as she lived out a day in the life of a porn performer beset with problems of a porn nature, some of them unintentionally funny. The best thing about the movie for most of her fans will be how much material was spent on Hanna too, the young lady observed in each of the four scenes having a good time. The box cover said it like this: "A beauty like Hanna should have no trouble making a home in LA. But as it turns out, porn stars don't live like the rest of us. Not when her twin friends challenge her to a cocksucking contest featuring her roommate! Or when her leading director and leading man practically comes to blows over her! Or when she gets attacked by the other Gold Star Models! In short, Hanna may need a new place to live. Got room?" Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Hanna Hilton, the blond babe featured on the cover, was up first as she sought out a room for rent outside of her Dallas home, needing a place in Southern California for her work. To this end, she was introduced to sisters Cayden Moore and Crista Moore, the gals immediately getting catty at the charms Hanna showed when playing with their moper boy toy Alan Stafford. Bonus Scene: Sugar: The first scene brings out Hannah, as a photographer's model, and pairs her with one of the best dick-slingers in the biz, Jack Venice. Summary: Porn Stars At Home by director Paul "Chuck Lords" Thomas for Vivid Entertainment was another quickly shot feature that never lived up to the potential of the cast or crew, earning a Rent It for everyone except huge fans of Hanna Hilton's that want to see as much of her as possible, regardless of the scene quality. It wasn't terrible but the replay value for the smutty portions was extremely limited and the dialogue parts seemed to be mostly adlibbed from what I could tell. In short, Porn Stars At Home was an attempt at a light hearted comedy that fell short of the mark, the production all over the place in terms of quality despite having such an attractive babe (Hanna Hilton) starring in every scene. Give it a look on a slow day and you may find it is an alright diversion but it was never close to the better works released by Vivid.
