Synopsis

It is the year 2040 and sexually transmitted diseases have become so virulent and widespread that having sex with another human being is tantamount to suicide. Armstrong uses a variety of techniques to conquer London, including the skills of a gloriously sexy "hit woman" played by Kaylani Lei, but isn't immediately successful. In the end, Armstrong does obtain Mira and her secrets. But, the choice of who is the ultimate winner in this good vs. evil/love vs. hate tale is in your hands. You can choose from among three endings to the movie...one's sad, one's happy, and one is so unexpected that it'll knock your socks off.

2040 is a very well-crafted and damned fine movie. Of course, director Brad Armstrong always releases a first-class epic each fall. The sets, locations, video special effects, videography, editing, and multiple audio tracks are all world-class. Even better, the female cast is stupendous (it includes Dr. Jay's Must-See Girls Alektra Blue, Mikayla Mendez, jessica drake, and Tory Lane). The plot, too, is top-notch and very engaging. And, the acting (especially by jessica drake in her role as Armstrong's right-hand woman and Alektra Blue in her role as a quick-learning "anabot") is mainstream quality.

Of course, we don't watch porn just for the plot and acting. The sex is of prime importance, too. 2040 boasts one of the best orgies you'll see in 2009. It's one of those no-holes-barred everybody-fucks-everybody-else affairs for which Wicked is so justly famous. In addition, one of my all-time favorites (and oh-so-classy woman) jessica drake never ceases to satisfy in the several scenes in which she partakes. Also, there's an all-girl fourway in the Extras (it appears to have been cut from the feature) in which one of the "girls" is actually a life-like doll. And, curvy Alexis Texas (with an ass as sweet and big as her namesake state) does a very fine job with Randy Spears in Scene One.

However, some of the other scenes leave me wanting on several levels.

First, I must admit that I think that sex is all about the orgasm...both hers and mine! Even though I know that it is oftentimes hard for a woman to climax on a movie set (too many distractions, too many breaks in rhythm, and so on), I expect girls to live up to their job title (adult actress) and make me think they came. Several girls in 2040 didn't appear to cum even once, and that left me unfulfilled (most likely the girl, too!). Of course, we all know for sure when the guy doesn't cum. Since that virtually never happens porn scenes that are released, there's no point discussing it.

Since I think my most important task during sex is to help my woman cum, I always eat her pussy until she climaxes the first of (hopefully) many times. Sadly, neither Alektra nor Mikayla got both her holes stuffed during their b/b/g scenes in 2040. In my experience reviewing nearly 600 movies, there are very few women who can pull off a good b/b/g scene. In 2040, neither Alektra nor Mikayla, did.

Whenever discussing fall "epic" releases, one must always consider the extras that come bundled with the movie. Believe me when I say that 2040 comes with a treasure-trove of supplemental features, spread across three DVD-9 discs, that will keep you happy for hours. In addition, there's a fourth disc, too. It's the 2009 Wicked "sampler" disc that contains a whole bunch of goodies including several bonus sex scenes from other Wicked releases.

Bottom line? I thoroughly enjoyed watching 2040. Even though a couple of scenes left me wanting, most of the sex is top-notch. The overall quality and sexual value of 2040 is so high that I am awarding it a coveted XCritic Pick award.
