Extras: The best extra was a bonus scene from "Black Butthole Stretchers" between Kelly Starr and Lexington Steele, lasting 37:21 minutes and showing a decent amount of energy. In some ways, it was better than most of the scenes in the actual movie, the ending showing Kelly receiving his wealth of genetic juice. There was also a 66:25 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, a popshot recap, a bunch of trailers, a photogallery, and a cast list.

Audio/Video Quality: Gapeman 3 was presented in an 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color presentation as shot by director Brian Pumper for Evil Angel in this 480i resolution, MPEG-2 offering in standard definition. While not the crispest, clearest picture I have seen of late, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the release, the video bitrate hovering around the lower 2.7 Mbps range when I spot checked it but hardly indicative of absolute quality in itself as the basic tenants of lighting were followed, limiting grain and video noise substantially in most cases, still showing some rough edges worth looking at for the future but it looked better than I have been told Brian's stuff generally is credited for with the composition of the camera work enhancing the ladies in most cases. Yeah, the editing needed some polishing up and the shaky camera panned in and out too frequently but it was not "as bad as a home movie" no matter who claims that to be the case. The fleshtones were fairly accurate and with some touching up, I suspect some of Brian's peers at Evil will be asking him for technical help (or at least those he hires). The audio was presented in a standard 2.0 Dolby Digital English had a 192 Kbps bitrate and a 48 kHz sampling rate but there was no separation between the channels and the dynamic range was limited. The vocals were easy to hear but often hollow, the music tending to be truncated to a few spots in the scenes and thankfully downplayed, nothing distracting this time from the sex.

Body of Review: Brian Pumper has been around the block for years as a performer, his success as a director varied when he replaced Justin Slayer at Evil Angel. As I pondered some of his past works last week, I was lucky enough to score one of his older titles, a double disc set by the name of Gapeman 3. This series allows Brian to assume the role of a character called "Gapeman" that focuses all of his attention on women having hardcore sex and displaying lengthy anal gapes (the way an ass stays open after hardcore sex or when large toys penetrate the ass). With a solid batch of extras and enough footage to qualify as two full movies elsewhere, I was especially pleased seeing the cast included such bootilicious babes as Kelly Divine, Olga Cabaeva, and Poppy Morgan among others. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Summary: Gapeman 3 by director Brian Pumper for Evil Angel was not the smash success some of his previous efforts for the company were but he did a fine enough job to earn himself a rating of Recommended all the same. There was enough anal fuck for the buck and gaping assholes to satisfy the most jaded of you out there, the double disc set worth checking into. In short, there were few surprises to Gapeman 3 but Brian provided what was expected of him and in sufficient quantity to cater to his hardcore devotees and newcomers alike.
