Extras: My favorite extra was the 38:46 minute long Behind the Scenes feature since it gave Van and the cast plenty of time to discuss their respective roles. It was visually well shot and included some additional material fans may appreciate of their objects of lust so be sure to check it out but keep in mind that the audio was fucked up and set way too low. There was also a generic little 5 minute long documentary on the late Clive McLean who founded the "Barely Legal" series that his wife picked up for awhile not long ago, some trailers, and a slide show (as well as some spam).

Audio/Video Quality: Barely Legal Bubble Butts was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an approximate aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Van Styles for Hustler Video in the MPEG-2 encoded standard definition using 480p resolution. The lighting was flat and even, substantially better than that which you'll find in most gonzo porn and topping a couple of his other recent efforts at the company. There was little grain and the fleshtones were accurate, reminding me of how splendid most of the movies released by the company have been of late (at least the ones I voted on for a few industry award shows). The composition of the shots was such that the ladies were made to look as good as Van Styles could make them, the director wisely selecting the shapeliest asses in the business this time. The compression rate was typically in the 4.9 Mbps area, moving about but rarely showing a need for less compression as some titles elsewhere have needed. The editing was on the minimalist end at the hands of Van himself, the man crafting his work in post production as carefully as he shot the scenes. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) but there was no significant separation between the channels and the vocals were on the low side in all but a few circumstances. Still, I could hear every monaural moan and groan in the post production enhanced release, pretty much what one would expect from a gonzo or vignette title.

Body of Review: Van Styles is one of the most prolific directors in porn these days, sharing the wealth of his talents all over the porn map either as a director for his own titles or shooting for others at various companies. One of the places he shoots at is Hustler Video and despite the general belief that all they release is watered down porn for couples, I have found a number of their projects to be pretty heated (and my appreciation for their sitcum releases is well noted). The latest title by the director coming to me this week was Barely Legal Bubble Butts, a selection of five lengthy scenes full of booty tease and sexy ladies such as Alexis Texas, Jenny Hendrix, and Kristina Rose. The ladies were not all "barely legal" nor did they universally give up the ass in anal penetration but as a fun little selection of scenes, this was pretty decent for me. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Jenny Hendrix, a cute gal wearing a colorful top and blue jean skirt, was up next as she walked in the familiar house to meet the director and patient James Deen. There was some fairly solid replayability and heat here too, earning a rating of Recommended. In short, Barely Legal Bubble Butts might have been a bit iffy on the age factor but the female ass on display provided a bubblicious experience that any fan should be able to appreciate, Van Styles showing his ability to work within whatever limits imposed upon him.
