Synopsis

There's only one thing that bothers me about Riley Steele Honey, and that's the color of the video. Instead of being warm and flattering to the girls' (and guys') skin, the color is cold and forbidding. When I asked the folks at Digital Playground about this, I was told: "Celeste wanted the bluish, desaturated colors to emphasize the melancholy and loneliness associated with the search for modern love. Heat and warmth come from the sex scenes, but the effects only last so long before Riley, Scott, and the other characters are looking for something more." Although this makes sense to the feel of the movie, I'd still prefer the colors to be warm and cuddly in sex scenes.

Overall, Riley Steele Honey is a worthwhile watch. I highly recommend it to you and your partner.

The DVD-9 disc I reviewed contains a full-motion chapter selector, multiple chapters per scene, studio contact information, a nine-minute behind-the-scenes featurette, a manually-operated photo gallery, a two-minute self-running slide show (same pictures as the photo gallery), and trailers for eight Digital Playground releases. The BTS contains a day-by-day look at the shooting of the movie. Footage includes glimpses of the performers (primarily Riley) rehearsing, reading (and screwing up) their lines, fooling around (especially Evan Stone), standing around naked (Riley looks luscious after sex!), donning their wardrobe, having hard and pretty-girl still photos taken, getting their hair styled, and footage of Nicole Ray showing off her gymnast moves (very nice slow-motion effects). There's also some behind-the-camera footage of the shooting of the sex scenes. Although the quantity of the extras is below average in today's marketplace, the overall quality of the BTS feature makes up for it. Three stars. 

Final Thoughts

The best things about Riley Steele Honey include:

• Scene Five. It's absolutely must-see. Don't miss it.
• Riley Steele. Truth be told, it has taken a while for Riley to "grow" on me. But, I think she gets hotter and more enjoyable every time I see her. I'm hooked on Riley!
• Nicole Ray. She's a damned good fuck...just the kind of girl I'd love to be with. She's demonstrative, cums often and hard, and squirts, too.
• the quality of the acting. Even though this is not an "epic" feature, it feels so professional.
• Danny Mountain's pop in Scene Three. Would that we could all shoot such fire hose-like streams! 
• the storyline, which is plausible, entertaining, and acceptably realistic.

Riley Steele Honey could have been better if:

• some anal sex had been included.
• the color saturation had been a bit stronger in a couple of the scenes.
• transitioning footage had connected each sexual position to the next.

Things I didn't like about Riley Steele Honey include:

• nothing. Director Celeste and her cast gave me what I want to see in a porn movie. They didn't do anything that turned me off, but they did give me a whole hell of a lot to like.
