Audio/Video Quality: Buttman's Stretch Class 3 was presented in the improved 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director John Stagliano for Evil Angel in the MPEG-2 codec using 480 resolution. As noted previously, John has never displayed the overwhelming desire to show crystal clear visuals, preferring to focus his efforts on the kind of raw energy so few of his peers are as capable of providing. The levels of grain, video noise, and even pattern effects were okay this time and the action lost nothing due to the flaws on the technical side (the movie was still hot but the bitrate typically hovered around the 3.3 Mbps even if it varied a lot) but the overly saturated colors really did not help the ladies look their best IMHO. The composition of the camera angles showed some care put into them, making the ladies virtually always look their best, and this is the strength of John's directorial ability more than anything else (as a producer, he also tends to make fine selections of cast). The large amounts of tease and clothing play along with female masturbation efforts enhanced this one significantly, the nastiest the action got with John involving his hands or some face smothering. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track (in 192 Kbps) was as basic as gonzo porn came be, with limited talking going on outside of John's own directions in the background. The cast could be heard moaning & groaning but this was definitely a limited selection based on audio quality.

Body of Review: John Stagliano is the perfect example of the old style gonzo director so many modern pornographers try to emulate, his classic offerings still talked about years later; a rarity considering how disposable most movies are these days. His latest release is Buttman's Stretch Class 3, the follow up to the ever popular Buttman's Stretch Class 2, which shows the legendary director showcasing another three popular performers; curvy babe Kelly Divine, youthful Kitty Bella, and seasoned extreme queen Sophie Dee. The theme of the day was for each lady to tease extensively, bend over a lot, change into a variety of sexy outfits, and masturbate with a lot of toys. The company website said it like this: "Buttman's Stretch Class 3 is the third chapter in legendary gonzo genius John Stagliano's video diary of his extremely intimate and sexually revealing butt-centric encounters with today's hottest gonzo queens and fetish princesses. Okay, this time, the ladies were shown in progression, the chapters of the movie providing each of them some quality camera time one after another. Kelly was up first, followed by Kitty and then Sophie, the gals working straight through with no breaks and few edits. As with previous volumes in the series, the idea here was not to provide lengthy bouts of boning by the gals with generic mopes pounding them until the genetic juice flowed all over their faces but merely a chance to show each of them as John wanted, using the concept of "elegance through simplicity" instead of circus act pairings the viewer would forget about a week later. John showed yet again that he had "the eye" for quality footage too, savoring the moment as he so lovingly proved how much he adored women in general, getting into these three in particular (Sophie looking thicker than ever).

In that sense, John was an important part of the scenes with them too, serving as the viewer's representative when it came to feeling them up, directing what he wanted them to do, and even getting to sniff them up close and personal. Rather than go through a laundry list of sex acts for specific durations, he allowed their personalities to take them where they wanted to go, Sophie going further than any of the others but Kitty trying hard to make a name for herself too. There was also a lot of dedicated tease relating to foot fetish material this time, my own appreciation for it limited but I understand it is a big thing for some folks.

Ultimately, that was the goal of the movie too; showing some of the hottest footage of the gals ever provided and in a manner that will last well beyond a rental or two. For me, the way John manages to coax out superb performances is one of the prime reasons why he "IS" Buttman while many pretenders to the throne stick with pleasing, but limited, formulas and he goes into new territory as fans expect. So yeah, if you want all sorts of mopes penetrating the ladies as they stare glassy-eyed through them, look elsewhere but don't forget you were given a chance to see some real enthusiasm, real energy, and real passion as the ladies were allowed free reign to explore their sexuality to the fullest.

Summary: Buttman's Stretch Class 3 by director John Stagliano may well leave a handful of fans cold for the lack of sexual penetration unrelated to toys but let's face the facts regarding the primary purpose of porn to begin with; it should always be strokable and provide the best quality women. In that sense, this one certainly merited a rating of Highly Recommended from this admittedly jaded reviewer but I applaud John's decision to again use three such diverse ladies for the show given how individual tastes seem to vary more than ever these days. In short, Buttman's Stretch Class 3, shows just why John is still so revered when it comes to the classic gonzo form in the genre, my own appreciation of the three ladies showcased enhanced more than a little bit. There is no doubt that while others may chase laundry list formulas, John prefers the overwhelmingly appreciated entertainment value of crafting his works using the raw elements at hand.
