Extras: Despite the back cover advertising a bonus scene that was not on the disc, and that there was no Behind the Scenes feature as advertised, the other extras included the trailers, photogallery, and pop shot recap one tends to expect. I lowered the score accordingly but I can't help but wonder what happened to make this so since the company is used as an example of pro-consumer by some of my peers, I hope it was just an oversight.

Audio/Video Quality: It's A Mommy Thing! 5 was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Patrick Collins for Elegant Angel using the MPEG-2 codec with 480p resolution. The movie was not as crisp and clear looking as Patrick's best works to date but it was still very polished in all the major areas so fans will not be disappointed. The lighting was good with only a few moments that could have been touched up, the raw energy nicely developed by the director. William Nutsack worked the camera and editing by Graham Travis, Michael Cates, and Bruce Carter helped keep this one looking solid on a technical level. Otherwise, there was little grain, some video noise, and mostly minor visual issues that got in the way of having a truly first rate picture but such matters were few and far between, handled better than expected for the gonzo company. The composition of the shots tended to favor the ladies nicely, rarely chopping off their heads in a frame or missing out on significant portions of the action. The editing was good this time though a few of the edits were too abrupt or noticeable but part of that might be due to what kind of footage was presented. I saw no compression artifacts (it was largely falling around the 3.9 Mbps video bitrate; in the mid-range but probably needed given the amount of material on the DVD) and the composition of the camera angles strongly favored the female performers as most of his work these days tends to do. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English track was pretty basic with little separation or dynamic range yet I could hear the cast well enough in most cases. For those keeping track, the audio was offered in a 256 Kbps offering with a 48 kHz sampling rate, plenty of room considering how little took place on it but leaving room for future efforts too.

Body of Review: Patrick Collins is a name that invokes many fond memories for long time fans of the gonzo genre, his works competing against some of the best known pornographers to ever pick up a camera. His company, Elegant Angel, has been on a renaissance for several years now and shows no sign of abating, their straightforward niche readily available for all to see. This time, Patrick provides scenes with Raylene, Shayla LaVeaux, and Sky Taylor among others, all of the ladies sort of fitting the theme if not exactly what I had in mind in each case. The company website described the movie like this: "Patrick Collins proudly presents, "It's a Mommy Thing 5" an assemblage of the most beautiful and depraved MILF's in the industry. Watch the superstar, Raylene, joined by Shayla LaVeaux, Diamond Foxxx, Camryn Cross, Faye Reagan, and Sky Taylor. Summary: It's A Mommy Thing! 5 by director Patrick Collins for Elegant Angel was not one of his best works though there were some flashes of brilliance enough to know that casting difficulties almost certainly played a role in why a few scenes just did not work out and others fell short so I rated it on the merits of the better material (not to mention that missing extras) and gave it a generous Rent It. In short, It's A Mommy Thing! 5 may appeal to the hardcore cougar fans out there that want to see just how mediocre lame male talent can make otherwise high in potential scenes fall but seriously, the strokability was minimal with two exceptions so don't get your hopes, or dicks, up before watching this one.
