Audio/Video Quality: Big Wet Asses 16 was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director William H. Nutsack for Elegant Angel using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec with 480p resolution. The lighting was good as expected and helped minimize the grain & video noise. The composition of the shots tended to favor the ladies, rarely chopping off their heads in a frame or missing out on significant portions of the action. The editing was a bit better this time though a few of the edits by Robert Laplanc were too abrupt or noticeable but part of that might be due to what kind of footage was presented. I saw no compression artifacts although the bitrate varied substantially, often seeming to be in the 4.3 Mbps range. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the 256 Kbps bitrate (and 48 kHz sampling rate), the separation was nonexistent and the dynamic range limited but at least the vocals could be heard most of the time (as could some background noise). The music from Mybeatshop and the company archives were solid enough for the scenes themselves but the action just did not always fit as nicely as possible so the aural work could have been polished up a little more.

Body of Review: William H. Nutsack and his work at Elegant Angel need no introduction in the porn circles I travel due to the exceptionally high quality of his works over the last several years. His biggest and best series for many folks, a flagship title in some ways, has been his "Big Wet Asses" offering released at least once a year to a huge audience, the heated debates over what performers should partake of the BWA experience often requiring moderation using a heavy hand. Well, the latest volume of the series, Big Wet Asses 16, is out and the big selling point here is that popular Tori Black finally gave up the ass, her various coworkers including Mackenzee Pierce, Emma Heart, Ava Rose, Sasha Knox, and Charlotte Vale. As a huge fan of the series for years, I admit I had my doubts this time since I couldn't care less about a "first anal" and while all of the ladies had ample samples (except perhaps Tori whose ass is pleasing if not big), this seemed almost like the runner up version of the series put out for contractual reasons rather than what I have come to think of as one of the company's premiere efforts. The company website described the show like this: "Superstar Tori Black stars in Big Wet Asses 16, the return of the award winning all anal series. The movie is directed by William H. and shot in 1080p HD. It features six intense and passionate hardcore sex scenes, with extended tease sequences for each girl. This is the first Big Wet Asses release that features a brand new look and location. Also starring Ava Rose, Sasha Knox, Charlotte Vale, MacKenzee Pierce, and Emma Heart." Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Tori Black, the AVN pick for performer of the year and cutie featured on the front cover, was up first in what was billed as her first anal scene. Summary: Big Wet Asses 16 by director William H. Nutsack for Elegant Angel was strokable and had enough replay value to merit a rating of Recommended but it fell short of previous series efforts due in large part to casting on both sides of the gender coin. Some of the ladies lacked the ample sample advertised while others appeared less than enthusiastic about who they were stuck with working, the men a hit or miss crowd too. In short then, Big Wet Asses 16 still had gals teasing while getting oiled up, still had some sexy action worth checking out, and still had all the usual elements, just not as polished up as better volumes in the series.
