Extras: In a slightly different turn of events, there was only a single Behind the Scenes feature lasting 52:45 minutes, previous efforts usually providing several shorter featurettes (and then focusing on specific aspects of the production in some cases). Still, it was fun, provided a lot of material albeit using a lower bitrate to allow for more to be on the disc, and some deleted footage that will likely offend old fogies. There was also an interesting anti-piracy commercial full of well known performers, a photogallery, a replay of the introductory portion of the show, and some trailers to other sitcums (surprisingly skipping all the Brady titles and the Partridge Family title available online).

Audio/Video Quality: Not The Bradys XXX: Bradys Meet the Partridge Family was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen it was shot in by director Will Ryder for X-Play. Unlike any other company in porn though, this was made as a collaborative effort, Will's partner Scott David and others involved in the technical aspects enhancing it in ways the rest of the industry just hasn't been able to imitate; their efforts always centering on a single focal point (usually the director) unlike the guys at X-Play. This flick was shot last August, the MPEG-2 encoding, the bitrate elevated to reach 4.9 Mbps when checked (at the expense of some extras), and the lighting as perfectly suited as ever. In terms of camerawork and all the visual elements, this was another solid winner too, any minor issues not impacting the production nearly as much as I've seen from the corner-cutters that abound in the industry. Suffice it to say, a lot of care went into this one and it showed time and again, the editing appearing a bit more streamlined or less noticeable for those that care, the garish colors of the original series maintained. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a laugh track, the 48 kHz sampling rate and 192 Kbps aural bitrate pretty standard by now. The vocals were nicely mixed into the stereo score, the impact elevating the audio qualities such that it was observed right away, the hopeful trend being to spend more time on this aspect of production by the leaders in the field. I thought the laugh track worked better here than in some of the pretender titles out there and the timing appeared improved on the verbal queues for the jokes. The aural qualities of the show also showed a decent level of care on the two theme songs and the mix, few issues arising to speak of thanks to the work by Jeff Mullen, Big Richard Black, and Rock Hardon.

Body of Review: Will Ryder and his partner Scott David are the two men most responsible for generating a wave of interest in porn due to their efforts at X-Play in reviving the parody porn market. Their "sitcums" as they call them, are the best the business has to offer in most respects, crafted with a lot of hard work rather than the cost cutting some companies use or the assembly line approach used by others (and frankly, I need not name the companies that engage in either practice since a casual viewing of their works is all you need). Make no mistake though that this was a Brady sitcum and all the expected characters were present, the ensemble nature of the release less suited for fanboys of particular performers than the other popular genre porn has to offer (gonzo). As an early review, I did not have a copy of the final art work in hand and the check disc used for review was a burned copy but I doubt many changes will be made considering the official release is in the next week or two. Going into the movie, I expected a lot of fun fucking, pornified dialogue, and the usual tribute to the original series that X-Play is known for. The back cover described the movie like this: "Marcia's sex obsession with Keith Partridge results in a huge misunderstanding as Shirley Partridge mistakes Mike & Carol for swingers. Keith hits on Marcia but when the record label signs Greg as "Johnny Bravo" all heck breaks loose as big tits, ass, and stiff cocks & pussy get fucked and sucked as the Partridge Family visits the Bradys in this hilarious spoof of two classic TV shows." In short then, Not The Bradys XXX: Bradys Meet the Partridge Family focused more on the lovely ladies than ever before, their sexual antics well worth your time, money, and seed while providing superior replay value, chemistry, and fuck for the buck in the 6.5 scenes. In all though, I expected a superior effort from all concerned and I wasn't disappointed at all, the ensemble cast delivering time and again to make this a winner!
