Audio/Video Quality: Bitchcraft 8 was presented in a pleasing 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color, as most porn is shot these days, by director Jake Malone for Evil Angel in the MPEG-2 codec with 480p resolution. The picture was decent and showed some improvement over a few of his recent releases by using nice lighting, solid composition of most shots (making the women look more appealing than usual), and good fleshtones; looking as technically solid as any of his peers in the Evil Angel, even stable in the portions where the lighting was decent except in some night scenes. The bitrate it was offered in was hovering around the 3.7 Mbps range so it wasn't the best looking title of the day but still pretty decently made overall. Jake kept his rough edge and raw energy at full levels while addressing my concerns nicely, marking it as a turning point in his favor if he can keep the momentum going. The editing was minimal but jumpy at times and the darker themes of the flick were on the grainy side but I did not see many compression artifacts or edge enhancement so those of you with larger television sets may appreciate the picture more than usual. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English in 192 Kbps using a 48 kHz sampling rate and was generally well done although it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for a gonzo production. I could hear the gals moan, groan, and talk dirty so I was pleased with it but there wasn't any separation between the channels and the dynamic range wasn't all that great either.

Body of Review: Jake Malone remains one of the true mysteries of modern porn for many folks, his hard-edged smut typically misconstrued by those outside of his realm as misogynistic while those who have worked for him always speak highly of how he respects their limits and seeks out what gets them truly excited in his works distributed by Evil Angel. His latest fuck flick making it my way is the lesbian themed show called Bitchcraft 8, a set of five lengthy scenes where the ladies set the pace, the tone, and let it all hang out without any genetic juice splooged on them by nameless mopes so prevalent in the industry. The company website described the movie like this: "The newest entry in the Bitchcraft franchise is a sex-video tribute to stylized, fetish-laden, hard-core lesbian sex. An opus for the truly advanced lover of the genre, Malone's newest submission raises the bar for those who would dare challenge his status as the prime exponent of female-on-female domination. What makes these five episodes so special is Jake's ability to merge the art of S&M fetish with the aggressive raunch of hard-edge lesbian sex without compromising either pursuit. Bitchcraft 8 features top stars Bobbi Starr, Sophie Dee and Nika Noir who are genuinely dominant bitches with a set of seriously submissive stunners who manage to inspire sympathy and arousal in one fell swoop when being put through their paces. The most thrilling aspect of all this mayhem is the attention to real female orgasm that is the payoff to every performance in every scene of this passion play so expertly staged by Malone. Every woman in this movie may now be hooked for life and relegated to years of attendance at meetings of Orgasm Anonymous. Such is the fate of the players in Malone's demented Sapphic world." Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Ariel X and Sophie Dee

Scene One: Sophie Dee, a blond bombshell well acquainted with extreme sex, was up first to dominate sexy brunette Kita Zen, both of them wearing outfits designed to showcase their bodies. Sophie was the dominant party here, slapping Kita and forcing her to service her asshole orally during some face sitting, the slave tied up and even blindfolded though still expected to service Sophie's entire body from head to feet. The role playing was harsh at times, Kita crying when she was being spanked and placed in awkward positions, even electric play engaged in by the ladies. It was not as lengthy a scene as I'm used to from Jake in this series but it was well suited for his fans of lesbian BDSM work.

Charlotte Vale and Nika Noir

Scene Two: Shawna Lenee, a sexy blond with appealing curves, was up next as a pony girl serving mistress/ring leader Bobbi Starr, Shawna even wearing a horse head costume as part of the role play. Bobbi spanked her with a whip and reddened her ass cheeks, bringing her inside where the lighting was better to continue using her as she saw fit. The lack of genetic juice did little to weaken this one too, their personal chemistry obvious as they carried out their bizarre little tryst, the fetish attire playing an important role but their knowledge of their respective roles helping elevate it just as much. At one point, Shawna even became slightly defiant, laughing until Bobbi clamped down a bit harder to restore her full control. There was less emphasis on oral this time but both ladies engaged in the practice, the rimming showing each getting off from what I could tell. Bobbi punished Shawna for having an orgasm, spanking her and doing more nipple work as well as requiring some ATM. The scene soon ended after that with some strap on dildo action, Shawna tied up before it closed out.

Scene Three: Sadie West, the attractive brunette featured on the front cover, was up next with partner Kiara Diane, the blond also featured on the cover but only slightly as she was covered up by Sadie's crotch on her face. Sadie was in charge here, the visual elements extremely grainy from lack of lighting, and relied less on specific fetish attire (though they both wore some). Sadie was not as good at the domination work as the others in the movie but gave it a decent showing all the same, forcing oral servitude and slapping Kiara around wildly, taking a moment out of the action to allow her to shoot at Jake's ass (I believe it was him) when the pervert was bent over a bench out front. Kiara rested control a time or two herself, grabbing Sadie's neck and ordering her to go down on her at length with more rimming than anything else. There was trampling by both of them as well, the scene ending when Kiara showed Sadie the door. For me, this was the worst of the lot since there was such a lack of focus involved, the switching of roles poorly handled.

Scene Four: Ariel X, a curvy gal with a great ass, was up next as the subject of Sophie Dee. They were in the living room with Ariel bound to a tall bar stool while wearing a torn dress that revealed her body parts. Sophie was on the prowl for revenge over a boyfriend, deciding to get her pound of flesh by tormenting Ariel with slaps, forced servitude, and an array of cunning stunts that focused on spanking initially. Both ladies did oral on each other, the face sitting among the best of the lot. Then came the anal toys and wand vibrator, Sophie providing a memorable mixture of pleasure and pain as she penetrated Ariel's ass. As things progressed though, both ladies showed they were getting off, Sophie "squirting" for Ariel to lick the fluids up. Their personal chemistry was very solid and helped make up for the last scene's weaknesses.

Scene Five: Charlotte Vale and Nika Noir were up last in a lesbian rape scene involving a handgun, simulating the kind of control a lot of people rarely see in porn due to producers shying away from it. Charlotte was the victim here and made to go down on Nika's strap on penis, the ass worshipping coming afterwards as did the reciprocating lesbian action. Nika liked Charlotte's ass and after rimming it, started banging her with her toy, making Charlotte clean it with a hummer before continuing to serve her new mistress. There was more of this type of action as the scene finished up, the anal toys well used to get Charlotte off and the scene ending while it was still in progress.

Summary: Bitchcraft 8 by director Jake Malone for Evil Angel was not as consistently heated as some of his best works but his fans know what to expect and he provided it in spades, the lesbian role players each providing a slightly different experience for fetish lovers everywhere to appreciate so I rated the movie as Recommended. I'd have preferred the fuck for buck value offered in one of Jake's double disc sets more but the quality of action was solid and strokable enough to beat out many of the competition. In short, Bitchcraft 8: Girls That Play Rough!, like Bitchcraft 7 before it, was the real deal all too often, the kind that some online companies shy away from but if you're interested in finding it for rental or sale, most of them provide the movie without issue so check it out. My belief is that anyone who enjoys this genre will find Jake's work among the very best available thanks to his nods to fetish attire, rough play, and finding ladies that are truly into it almost all of the time.
