Extras: For some of you, the bonus scene from Curvaceous 1 described in detail below, will be the best extra, the tryst between Abbey Brooks and Tommy Gunn well worth checking out if you haven't seen it before. It lasted 27:19 minutes and appeared nicely mastered for those that care. The more related extra, the 10:38 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Mike Maravich, was actually pretty well done too, showing Skow helming the camera while getting bits from two scenes and interviews (though I may never try to play a piano again). Audio/Video Quality: Curvaceous 2 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director Shylar Cobi for Vivid Entertainment using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec in 480 resolution. The flick was shot in 1080i/60 high definition awhile back, though presented in the SD format (for now), in what appeared to be a more intimate setting than some of Shylar's works to date. The lighting was well handled and this added to the pleasure of watching the gals in play as the lengthy scenes gave them enough freedom to explore their sexuality. The composition of the camera angles was almost always optimal this time, Shylar seeing fit to try and enhance the look of the ladies at every turn as possible, B. Skow leaving him in charge this time (Shylar is usually in a producer role). The fleshtones were accurate too and the DVD mastering was well done (the bitrate hovering around 4.2 Mbps), even if the lighting was off at times (the company watermark will be bothersome to many out there but only some). The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 256 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. The aural qualities of the movie appeared to offer minimal separation and dynamic range but the vocals were easily heard and that is on par with most modern porn.

Body of Review: Shylar Cobi is a popular producer known for his work at Vivid Entertainment. Every once in awhile, he takes the reins to a project that he calls his own, the result typically at least as good as many of his peers throughout the industry. His latest flick is a collaboration with B. Skow called Curvaceous 2, the show all about women built for comfort over speed. By this I mean gals that have some junk in their trunk and are not anorexic, the kind of ladies that enjoy using what they have be it big tits, fleshy asses, or just the type of bodies that many men appreciate more than those who resort to a whole host of tricks to stay thin. There was no lead this time and Vivid has never had a particularly thick contract performer on call but it was definitely a lot of fun, the all new scenes lasting in excess of three hours but still providing some decent extras all the same. The back cover described the movie like this: "This time we're laying it on thick. Five big scenes...five big girls...five big, round asses. The ladies all satisfied the advertised claims and even the weakest performance wasn't bad, a few of them standing out enough that I hope they lay to rest the idea that only skinny women are suitable for porn or enjoyable sex so I rated this one as Recommended. The technical qualities were decent and the theme was welcome, the movie offering strokable smut with replay value all a fairly solid package of extras. In short then, Curvaceous 2 should show a willingness on the part of Vivid to cater to a variety of folks the kind of sexual energy provided outside of the contract performer genre. In the end, Shylar may not have strayed far from his comfort zone but the choices made here were well thought out most of the time and it was a fun flick overall.
