Extras: T his was one of the big titles of the year for the company so it got the double disc treatment, starting off the second disc with a 98:50 minute long "party version" of the movie. This was kind of cool, though an explanation as to the difference between the regular version would have been nice. That was followed by 25:31 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Ralph Long that included some comments by the cast telling of their roles was well handled. There was an unrelated bonus scene between Jackie Daniels and Alex Gonz in a scene from "Keepin' It Fresh #5" as well, lasting 25:31 minutes. Then came a pop shot recap, a bunch of sitcum trailers, spam, and an iPod compatible version of the movie on DVD Rom. In all, it was a great selection of extras, most of them related too.

Audio/Video Quality: The Big Lebowski A XXX Parody was presented in a sharp looking 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen picture as shot by director Lee Roy Myers for New Sensations using the MPEG-2 codec with 480 resolution. The show looked more like the original movie show than Myers' previous efforts, the lighting generally a notch above the last works of his I reviewed, probably thanks to Eddie Powell's participation. There were few compression artifacts that I noticed and the video bitrate seemed to hover around the 3.1 Mbps, the fluid camerawork coming across like the show too. This was a pretty good pornified version of the original show, the director again using editor Gabrielle Anex (and Lee himself) to enhance the final product. The company logo was always present in the lower right hand corner with a light watermark but it wasn't obtrusive except in a few of the sex scenes. The SD audio was presented in a standard 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate, no separation between the channels, a limited dynamic range, and generic music to fit the bill of the original. In all then, the show was a cute send up to a popular television show, the technical aspects less important than the creative material used to inspire your self-love habits.

Body of Review: New Sensations has consciously made a big turnaround in recent years by jumping on the parody bandwagon in a big way, not just releasing compilations of varying quality. Their lead director in this renaissance is Lee Roy Myers, a man known as the company's answer to Axel Braun over at Hustler more than anything else. Truth be known, his success rate with making quality productions in the genre is getting surprisingly solid given the budgets and shooting schedule he is faced with, my prediction that he would catch up to Axel and others in the field proving to be accurate. His latest big project is a parody of a cult classic movie from years back, the title being The Big Lebowski A XXX Parody. I took extra time reviewing this one by going to see the original it is based on at a friend's house, both of us appreciating some of the nods in camera work and other technical areas almost as much as we did the cast portraying their roles. With a few notable exceptions, we had little to complain about, the movie standing out as one of the best efforts of the genre this year. The back cover described the show like this: "From New Sensations, the studio that brought you the AVN Award winning Sex-Comedy, 30 Rock: A XXX Parody, cums a spoof of one of the Biggest cult films of all time - THE BIG LEBOWSKI: A XXX PARODY! IT IS A XXX Parody that dares to bring the world a dirty spoof that is better than good and thorough. It is Great AND thorough! When some horny thugs almost drown Jeffrey Lebowski in his own toilet and leave some splooge on his new VHS Porn tapes (the tapes that really tied his porn collection together), it sets off a Sexy AND Funny chain of events. Tom Byron was sublime in his role as expected and the ladies were all appealing sexually, the non-sex roles this time generating some serious competition for award nominations. I enjoyed this one on both sexual and non-sexual levels too, making it another fine production from the company to shell out the money for, even the extras worth the added dough. In short then, The Big Lebowski A XXX Parody was the kind of movie parody that earned points for all sorts of nods, the details definitely elevating it in terms of "must have" status for movie collectors of all sorts.
