Audio/Video Quality: Trophy Wives was presented in a visually appealing anamorphic widescreen color using an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Nate Liquor for Third Degree Films using the MPEG-2 codec employed by standard definition releases with a 480i resolution. The lighting was strong, eliminating the shadows and grain I dislike so much, the overall look of the show pretty good for a guy best known as a production assistant. The bitrate tended to hover around the mid 5.7 Mbps area most of the time I paid any attention to it, the composition of the camera angles typically optimal for the ladies. The composition of the scenes enhanced the look of the ladies, each of them used to softer lighting in recent scenes, this particular cast able to handle the added lighting quite well. The sole audio track was presented in 1.0 Dolby Digital English using the standard 192 Kbps rate using a 48 kHz sampling rate most titles are mastered with, the aural experience fairly limited due to the nature of the gonzo shoot. There was also no separation between the channels and the dynamic range was as truncated as ever, standard gonzo audio being okay for most consumers. The voices could be clearly heard though, the balancing between those and the music capably handled.

Body of Review: Nate Liquor has been around porn for years, serving in a variety of roles as he enhanced the works of some of the most awarded directors and performers in every way possible while working for companies like Third Degree Films. In his capacity as director, he has also made some strokable smut that worked for lots of folks, his latest release coming in for review being Trophy Wives. The movie was based on comedic little clips of wives dealing with husbands in the usual manner, the "trophy" part of the equation being that each of the ladies looked very physically attractive. With gals like Kagney Linn Karter, Juelz Ventura, Tori Lux, Angelina Armani, and McKenzee Miles as the sexually charged vixens wanting to satisfy their men, I had high hopes for the strokability and replay value here, my biggest complaint being that the cameo by Sparky Sin Claire was not sexual in nature. A few of the performances lacked chemistry due to some of the mopes used and the sexual aggressiveness I prefer to see in the ladies was not as consistent as I wanted but there was a wide range of ladies to pick from and Nate showed how much he could do with limited resources, pulling out a winner overall. In short, Trophy Wives benefitted from eye candy such as Kagney Linn Karter, skilled performers such as Juelz Ventura, and the sheer enthusiasm of ladies such as Angelina Armani so give it a look and you may want a copy for your spank bank collection.
