Audio/Video Quality: Cougar Street was presented in 1.78:1 widescreen using a 1080p resolution with AVC encoding (in Blu-ray) versus the 480 resolution with MPEG-2 encoded standard definition version as shot by director Robby D. for Digital Playground. The composition of the camera angles was generally flattering to the ladies, the footage shot during the sexual trysts tending to include a whole lot of close up material. Otherwise, the RED camera system was used exclusively here from what I could tell, all shots forced from a stationary location, greatly limiting the diversity of the content. The video bitrate varied significantly but when I spot checked it, the numbers typically kept around the 21.6 Mbps mark in high definition while the SD version came in at around 6.1 Mbps. The colors seemed more accurate this time, still impeded by the sheer amount of close up work but not by the lighting; Keyser Foze doing a fair job on editing from what was shown (there were some abrupt transitions and disappointing lack of certain positions but that is to be expected when the camera is stuck on a tripod). The audio was presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital English with a 48 kHz sampling rate and 640 Kbps bitrate (in the Blu-ray version; 448 Kbps in standard definition), none of the vocals showing any separation though the score seemed to during the opening and closing. I did notice that some portions were substantially louder than others so be prepared with remote in hand (like most folks) to compensate, the balance off in other areas as well.

Body of Review: Robby D. has demonstrated to the world that he is one of the best technical directors in the jizz biz time and again, his ability to get the best out of his crew undisputed at Digital Playground. Still, in recent times, I have found so much of it to be alike that it just wasn't working for me in the intended fashion so keep this in mind when reading the following review; a casual viewer probably finding his movies better than someone watching all (or most) of them and the competition. His latest movie is called Cougar Street and I was fortunate enough to get both the DVD and Blu-ray versions, the former far cheaper in price while the latter showing enhanced visual elements for those with the right gear (minimum of 50" television with 1080p capabilities, full stereo for the audio). In porn terms, a "cougar" is a woman that seeks out much younger men (sometimes women though that is not the common use of the term) to have sex with. That being the case, I expected the pairings in the movie to reflect that idea, this being the first shortcoming given the relative ages of the cast being so close together. Otherwise, with ladies such as Lisa Ann, Diamond Foxxx, and Courtney Cummz in key roles, there was still a lot of potential to trip my trigger even if the expectations of technical matters were on the modest side. The box cover described the movie like this: "Same old street, new hot chick. On Cougar Street anything can happen. When McKenzie Lee moves in the men in this neighborhood can't keep from sneaking a peek at this sexy cougar and find any excuse possible to help her move those heavy boxes." Summary: Cougar Street by director Robby D. for Digital Playground was one of the shortest pornos I've watched in a very long time, clocking in under 80 minutes with meager extras to make up for the full priced fuck flick. The pairings were also curious given the theme of cougars (the men can dye their hair all they want but they do not look any younger, sorry guys) though there was definitely some enthusiasm and energy if not a consistent level of chemistry between the players. The storyline was minimal enough to be tossed aside from any serious consideration of the movie being called a "feature" yet there did seem to be some attempt to let the ladies look their respective ages, perhaps since none of them were employed under contract, the decision was made to use fewer filters, gels, and other age-limiting devices. I rated this one as a Rent It to be generous due to the aspects discussed above but for those that watch a couple of porn flicks a year and want to see older women banging equally old men, this one might appeal to you more than it did to me. In short, Cougar Street was a cute little flick about an older lady moving into a neighborhood well suited for her sexual needs, it just lacked the thematic and replay value to make it a clear cut movie to add to your collections even if you like the ladies of the cast such as Lisa Ann, Courtney Cummz, or Diamond Foxxx.
