Audio/Video: Asian Erotic Dreams is presented in anamorphic widescreen 16:9 ratio color using the MPEG-2 codec. The bitrate was usually in the 7.0 Mbps range but ranged from about 6.8 Mbps to as high as about 7.4 Mbps. The lighting is what I would call "moody" as it is meant to set the erotic tone and does so very well. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital using a 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate which captures the sexual sounds very well here. Soft music plays throughout the various scenes, again with the desire to enhance the couples oriented action, and again does so very well and never drowns out or overwhelms the action itself.

Synopsis: In a tried and true format, a beautiful Asian hostess (unaccredited non-sex role, I would love to know who she is and know if she has done any sex scenes) reads from a selection of Penthouse Forums letters. Some of the letters are from the male point of view, at other times, the female point of view. Once read, we then go straight into the action.

Scene One: Charmane Star and Randy Spears pair up for this first outing. In this scenario, Randy spends a lot of time at a coffee shop because he can't sleep. In comes Charmane dressed in only a matching bra and panty set. The couple start out with gentle kissing. Although the movie technically is done very well, with great sound and atmospheric lighting, it is definitely a couples oriented movie, very tame in many regards, with absolutely nothing of questionable taste thrown in. You won't see any lesbian action, no anal, no spitting, choking, or degrading talk to the women. As a matter of fact, with the exception of the hostess, very little is said throughout the movie at all.

Because this is most certainly a couples oriented fuck flick, and much is played safe throughout the release, I was left wanting more. There is very little in the way of passion, enthusiasm or energy on display, with the exception of Asa Akira who won over a new fan here. There have been plenty of couples oriented films released that don't skimp on sexual intensity but this isn't one of them. I give this release a RENT IT rating, due primarily to Asa Akira's performance. Without that performance, I would have had to recommend skipping this release entirely.
