Extras: The best extra was the 29:10 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Marc Star, introducing the cast and concept. There was then a 24:52 minute long non-sex version of the movie, bouncing from clip to clip in an interesting fashion, some trailers, the usual spam and other extras offered on a Vivid production.

Audio/Video Quality: Superman XXX was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Axel Braun for distribution by Vivid Entertainment. This time, Axel handled art direction, some of the cameras, and a variety of other technical roles with the results being largely favorable. The video bitrate hovered around 4.8 Mbps (when spot checked), it looked almost as if shot using a film emulating process rather than the typical video look, the special effects handled by Dexter Douglas showing at least a modicum of care (for a porn flick at least). The lighting was solid and there were a number of touches used to emulate the “look” of specific scenes from the original movies, some of the rougher edges polished up in post production by people like editor Claudia Ross. The audio was presented in a basic 2.0 Dolby Digital with a 48 kHz sampling rate and 256 Kbps aural bitrate, the vocals clearly heard regardless of the situation. The musical interludes sounded much like the original score from the 1970’s film too, another decent attempt at providing a better aural experience than is typically the case in adult flicks.

Body of Review: Axel Braun broke a lot of ground when he released his award winning Batman parody for Vivid Entertainment last year, almost instantly upgrading his directing credibility as a result. Since that time he has released a handful of titles running a wide range of quality but many have been awaiting what has been referred to as his biggest quality project yet, Superman XXX A Porn Parody. Unlike his admittedly entertaining Elvis parody I reviewed a few days ago, this one has tremendous crossover appeal, not just because the lead is something of a cross over performer himself but because everyone involved poured their hearts into this one to make it just right, the director even employing the King of porn parodies in a non-sex role. Pretty much everyone knows the mainstream story of Superman; born on a dying planet only to be sent here by his parents with the knowledge that he would gain tremendous powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal man. Standing for truth, justice, and the American way, Superman is a beacon of light created in the 1930’s that has evolved as the purest of heroes, fighting all sorts of villains seeking power and control over humanity, the character ripe for yet another pornified treatment. For those that care, the parody was based mostly on the 1970’s and 80’s Superman series, even the attire seemingly worked to establish the setting more accurately. With ladies such as Kristina Rose, Alexis Texas, and Lexi Belle helping to enhance the sexual aspects of the parody, I went into this one pretty sure it was going to be another special effects laden winner, perhaps even surpassing Batman XXX in terms of quality.

It's The hit-making team who brought you the biggest parody of 2010, taking on the man of steel and his tool of steel in Superman XXX: A Porn Parody!” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Alexis Texas

Scene One: Lexi Belle, playing a sexy blond stewardess, was up first as she took turns slobbing the knobs of the mighty Evan Stone and moper Alec Knight in a cockpit. Summary: Superman XXX by director Axel Braun for Vivid Entertainment might not have been the best parody released for the year but it was fun, amusing, and entertaining on top of the sexual aspects of the flick. This is the goal of any parody release and the pornification of the elements tossed into the flick could have been more focused but given a cast full of attractive young ladies such as Lexi Belle, Alexis Texas, and Zoe Ross certainly helped make it worth a rating of Highly Recommended. In short, Superman XXX A Porn Parody proved that Axel’s Batman was no fluke in terms of his ability to offer fun but sexually gratifying parodies, possibly cementing his reputation for being able to deliver the goods when the budgets are decent and he is given enough time to get them done right. The technical side of things, including the special effects, was superior to what I expect from a porn parody from Braun, his drive to make his superhero line for Vivid clearly upgraded over his other projects (which is greatly appreciated by the way). I look forward to seeing his upcoming superhero titles more than anything else coming out of his studio but Vivid definitely picked the right guy to bring them up to speed on the parody genre if this is the quality of movie we can look forward to them distributing. To sum it all up, Superman XXX was truly super and likely to set the bar mighty high for the competition when awards time comes up later this year so give it a look.
