Overview:  Digital Playground is undoubtedly the largest and most powerful studio within the industry.  The studio has a steady track record and repeatedly sinks big bucks into adult blockbusters.  The studio mainly focuses on features with a few gonzo vignettes here and there.  In an era where Vivid has dropped its contract stars, Digital Playground gains most of its draw power from its powerful roster.  I’ve personally never been a man for vanilla features, but I’ve decided to branch out in 2011.  The DVD artwork has to say about The Roommate:

Jesse Jane and Monique Alexander share an apartment, but Monique Alexander has a secret sex life. Jesse Jane is the new roommate, unaware of the naughty ways of Monique Alexander. Special Features:  Director Robby D. includes a behind the scenes extra, a gallery, fourteen additional Digital Playground trailers (HD), and company contact information.  The worthwhile extra is the fourteen minute BTS footage, which is presented in HD.  The footage is broken into several segments, such as “setup”, “wardrobe”, “makeup”.  The footage is entertaining in seeing Jesse in her natural element, but also seeing the extent Digital Playground productions go for a top-notch product.

Audio/Video Quality:  Audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and is excellent throughout the presentation.  Video quality is simply superb and resembles the quality of a mainstream Blu-ray release form a Hollywood studio.  Colors, flesh tones, and lighting were all simply excellent and set the bar for the competition.  The Roommate is presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen in 1080P using the AVC codec.  

Final Thoughts:  The Roommate is an impressive feature from Robby D. for Digital Playground.  The near-perfect movie exemplifies perfection from undoubtedly the biggest powerhouse in adult entertainment.  The feature has an all-star cast and has a little for everyone; a storyline, a lesbian scene, attractive male performers, and high-production value that mirrors Hollywood films.  Additionally, the amazing value of a Blu-ray + DVD combo pack not only makes this a sound purchase, but also future proofs your smut collection for years to come.  If you have swore off vanilla features, I highly suggest you take another look at what Digital Playground is producing nowadays.  Highly Recommended
