Extras: The first disc had a photogallery, cumshot recap, and five trailers as well as a list of the second disc’s contents, effectively containing the entire listed “movie” contents. The second disc started out with three bonus scenes; 114:10 minutes of sexual action from Jessica Girl, Virginee, Olga Winter, Sidney, Nick Lang, Choky Ice, Patricia Parisch, and Kate. The next best extra was the 32:39 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage, extra sex and interviews populating the disc though it proved the scenes were streamed live the way the ladies were on the internet communicating with folks. The second disc also had a photogallery, a cumshot compilation, and trailers for those who care.

Audio/Video Quality: Cruel Media’s Starstruck was presented in anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 widescreen as shot in by director Raul Cristian for Evil Angel in the MPEG-2 codec used for standard definition releases (including 480 resolution). There was a lot of strong lighting that helped maximize the quality of the picture, the camera still showing a lot of extra movement thanks to Raul’s usual jumpy method of catching the action. The editing was on the minimalist side but frankly, that seemed to help the flow of the sexual trysts in certain cases. The bitrate was decent so there were few obvious compression artifacts, the aliasing minimal and given the sheer amount of quality footage on display, most fans will be quite happy; Raul allowing the ladies to provide some heated raw energy even if his attempts to capture it were mixed. The bitrate hovered all over the place this time, higher than usual with most of the movie in the 5.1 Mbps range, but varying across the board depending on the scene. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering that really didn't use any separation in terms of the vocals (there was some potential to do so here too). The dynamic range was also kind of generic, an area that seemed slightly better than previous efforts and an area that Raul could easily improve to make best use of the great many home theaters in the hands of porn fans everywhere.

Body of Review: Raul Cristian is a European director at Evil Angel, his works definitely more about performers being pushed to their limits than romantic sexual encounters involving chemistry. Cruel Media’s Starstruck, a double disc title sent to me for review, is his latest to cross my path, the casting of babes like Julia Ann, Gracie Glam, Kristina Rose, and others certain to please fans of his hardcore style. As long as it was, the show only had four formal scenes (with three bonus scenes tossed in too) but this again allowed the ladies to get the full treatment from Manuel Ferrara and Nacho Vidal. Going into the show, I knew there would be a lot to like with the kind of fuck for the buck you just don’t see much these days outside of Evil Angel. For the record, the scenes comprising the movie amounted to about half the stated length of the show (per the cover advertising), the three “bonus scenes” fleshing it out substantially.

Summary: Cruel Media’s Starstruck by director Raul Cristian for Evil Angel started out very nicely but ran out of steam because of the last scene (and reliance of the bonus scenes to fill out the running time advertised) so I rated it as Recommended. Every babe in the movie was fuckable and worth dropping loads of seed all over but the average follower of the director might be surprised at the lack of anal in the initial scenes, the movie still worth picking up for fans of the cast and as spank bank material for those wanting something just edgy enough (but not too much so). In short, Cruel Media’s Starstruck had wonderfully sexy ladies such as Julia Ann, Gracie Glam, Kristina Rose, and others having some fun so check it out and pay attention to the solid selection of extras including nearly two hours of material.
