Synopsis

After an intense argument with her husband (Justin Sterling), Jenna Jameson lies back in a filled bathtub and slits her wrist to commit suicide. She soon finds herself in hell's vestibule waiting her turn to be admitted to eternal damnation. Upon entering Hades, Jenna quickly finds herself in a ferocious threeway all-girl sexual encounter with Justine Joli and a friend who died sometime earlier (Janine).

Janine deeply loves Jenna and is mortified to find that her friend took her own life. So, determined to save Jenna from the fires of hell, Janine explains that she knows the ropes and can get the two of them out of eternal damnation. Jenna simply must trust Janine...too much is at stake. Jenna, thinking everything she's experiencing is a dream, quickly agrees and trustingly follows Janine.

Janine leads Jenna through a maze of hallways lined with portals through which the women can see themselves and others engaging in hard and graphic sex. In turn, they watch Dominica Leoni fuck Jerry and Reno and themselves fuck Justin Sterling and Manuel Ferrera. Eventually, they find themselves in a seven-deadly-sins-themed "diner" that serves up lust, greed, envy, sloth, pride, anger, and gluttony. Lust, superbly played by Katja Kassin, fucks greed (Vincent Vega) and anger (Tommy Gunn) right there in the middle of the diner. And, Katja even takes it up the ass!

The womens' journey soon brings them to the throne room of the king of hell, Hades himself (played by Justin Sterling). Janine tricks Hades into giving her Jenna as her slave. Hades agrees...all the women need to do is give their bodies to Hades and his son (Jenna fucks Justin and Janine takes on Julian--Hades' son) and then Janine can have Jenna for herself. After Janine and Jenna satisfy the two devils, they make their escape and find themselves back in the tub where Jenna committed suicide. The women then share incendiary girl/girl sex in a scene that has "best girl/girl scene of 2007" written all over it.

Janine and Jenna don't come back to life. But, they do, however, escape hell and eternal damnation.

Even though Janine Loves Jenna is a dark film (indeed all the ... Loves Jenna movies are dark), it is hopeful. Out of darkness comes light. There's mercy even in one's darkest hour.

Janine Loves Jenna is a triumph of adult filmmaking. Frankly, I think that if you pass up the chance to buy a copy of this movie that you'll be disappointed. If you don't like Janine Loves Jenna, you don't like porn.

When I wrote this review, there were two editions of Janine Loves Jenna available...one is a standard two-disc set (it comes with collector cards in an exquisite slip-covered box) and the other is a limited edition version that is hand autographed by Jenna herself. Club Jenna sent me the standard edition, so I don't have Jenna's "John Hancock." Oh well, I can get her to sign it next time I see her.

I'm not going to ruin your experience of Janine Loves Jenna by giving you a blow-by-blow description of the movie. Instead, here are three easy rules that make buying this movie a no-brainer:

1. If Jenna Jameson is in a movie, buy it. Be especially diligent to get copies of all the movies she's made for her own company, Club Jenna.
2. If a movie stars Janine, buy it. Be especially on the lookout for movies in which she appears with guys. Although some of you younger folks might not appreciate it, those of us who grew up worshipping Janine know that she spent most of her career as a veggie only performer. When she starting taking cock...well, it was a miracle of supreme importance.
3. If a movie was directed by Justin Sterling, buy it. Justin is Jenna's husband and really puts on a good show. I just did a check of the movies for which he is credited as director. I've seen them all and can attest to each one's intrinsic and creative merit.

Not convinced? Well, here are my top ten reasons for recommending Janine Loves Jenna to you:

1. Janine is my idea of a perfect woman. She's a devoted mom (do you know that her tattoos exemplify her children?), extremely kind and thoughtful to her fans, well spoken, very intelligent, and a superb actress. Even though Janine is nearly 40, she's absolutely gorgeous, her body is superb, and she's intensely sexual...in fact, she's a sexual dynamo. Janine is, in my mind, an exemplar of what a modern woman should be like.
2. Jenna Jameson is, of course, the pornstar. She's stunningly beautiful, passionate, and oh-so-naughty. More than that, however, she's very considerate and caring. I attend the Adult Entertainment Expo each year and present Critic's Choice Awards to the studios. Of course, Jenna's line of fans is always very long--it might take an hour or more to be able to speak with her. However, Jenna, who I've met only at the yearly Expos, always recognizes me instantly and takes a short break to speak to me personally so I don't have to wait forever. I truly appreciate her memory and her thoughtfulness.
3. Janine Loves Jenna includes six scenes that encompass a variety of sexual encounters ranging from boy/girl to girl/girl, to boy/boy/girl/anal. This variety stands in stark contrast to the typical movie in which it seems like the same scene is repeated over and over--only the participants change. For the record:
   1. Scene One is an all-girl threeway featuring Jenna, Janine, and Justine Joli.
   2. Scene Two is a boy/boy/girl featuring Dominica Leoni, Jerry, and Reno.
   3. Scene Three consists of two concurrent boy/girl couplings: Janine with Manuel Ferrara and Jenna with Justin Sterling.
   4. Scene Four is a boy/boy/girl/anal threesome featuring Katja Kassin, Tommy Gunn, and Vincent Vega.
   5. Scene Five has two concurrent boy/girl couplings: Janine with Julian and Jenna with Justin.
   6. Scene Six is a girl/girl encounter featuring Jenna and Janine.
4. Janine and Jenna each appear in four scenes. They begin the movie with a superb threeway all-girl scene in which they take on gorgeous redhead Justine Joli. Later, they appear in two boy/girl scenes (In Scene Three, Jenna appears with hubby Justin and Janine fucks Manuel Ferrera. In Scene Five, Jenna again performs with Justin while Janine takes on Julian.). Finally, they go one-on-one in a scorching girl/girl scene that has "best girl/girl scene" written all over it. If you have the hots for either Janine or Jenna, you simply must see them together!
5. Although I don't claim to have seen all of Jenna Jameson's multitude of scenes captured over the last 15 years, I do think that her performance with Justin in Scene Three is one of her best boy/girl scenes...ever! During that scene, I particularly appreciated Jenna's moves in doggie and reverse cowgirl. Damn, Jenna, you really know how to move! Jenna also uses her body to extreme advantage in Scene Five when she fucks Justin reverse cowgirl style. Believe me when I say, Jenna's performances are hot and sweaty!
6. I've never seen Janine perform this edgy before! Again, I haven't seen all of Janine's scenes. However, during Janine Loves Jenna Janine takes a pyramid-shaped wooden toy up her ass, gets double-penetrated with strap-ons, finger-fucks her own asshole (and Jenna's), uses lit candles to fuck both Jenna's asshole and her own, and cums harder than I've ever seen her climax before. Of course, Janine also fucks two guys during the movie...that, alone, is impressive for those of us who've known Janine for a long time. However, even more impressive is how she handles the guys' pops. She takes two mammoth facials and, in the case of Manuel Ferrara, jacks him to climax (don't you love it when the girl makes the guy cum?). I must also report that Janine's superbly enhanced breasts are so fucking beautiful that they defy words...especially when she gets fucked doggie style (they bounce so well!).
7. Katja Kassin is a fucking anal maniac in her scene with Tommy Gunn and Vincent Vega. Her role, in Scene Four, is to play one of the seven deadly sins...lust. Believe me when I say, "Lust, thy name is Katja!" And, I must admit that she looks damned good at the end of the scene...when her face is absolutely plastered with two massive loads of cum!
8. The acting, throughout the movie, is superb. In particular, Janine, who's a very talented actress, plays her role to a tee. More impressive, however, is Jenna's believable and mainstream-quality portrayal of her character.
9. The videoography is absolutely stunning. The movie features excellent close-ups, extensive use of double-exposure (so that Jenna and Janine appear in two or more places on the screen at the same time), and incredible special effects (For example, the guys in Scene Three don't have faces...they have tongues of fire instead. Also, there are effective slow-motion sequences, during blowjobs and pops, faces morphing from human to diabolic, and tiny gnome-like demons dancing and taunting in the background.)
10. From a production values perspective, Janine Loves Jenna is first rate. Amazing costumes, wardrobe, and make-up turn actors into demons and worse. Creative use of locations, sets, and special effects give a surreal feel to the entire production. And, extremely well chosen music appropriately supports the on-screen action (music by KHZ, Walt Jizzney, and Denny Adams).

DVD Perspectives

Video (technical): The 16:9 video is excellent. See item nine in my top ten reasons above. Five stars.

Audio (technical): The audio, which includes excellent supporting music as well as "moans and groans" is available in seven soundtracks: 5.1 Dolby, 2.0 Dolby, 5.1 Sounds of Hell, 5.1 Music Louder, 5.1 Moans and Groans Louder, Commentary by director Justin Sterling, and Commentary by star Jenna Jameson. Five stars.

Extras: Disc One contains a full-motion chapter selector and an audio set-up screen. It also contains multiple soundtracks, including two running commentaries by director Justin Sterling and a second by star Jenna Jameson. In addition, a second DVD is chock-full of extras. On it, you'll find a very enlightening 20-minute behind-the-scenes featurette (it's really BTS, not an interview reel); a four-minute blooper and outtake reel; an eight-minute orgasm-intensive masturbation bonus scene featuring the "background girls" (those who appear in the background during Scene Five); a 13-minute "deleted" boy/girl/anal scene that features Naudia Nice; a KHZ Music soundtrack and Music Video feature; website information; previews of 12 Club Jenna releases; and an eight-minute self-running slide show. I must also admit that the slip-covered DVD package, replete with lots of hot pictures, trading cards, and spindles to hold both DVDs, is extremely attractive and way above the current packaging standard. Five stars.
