The Movie:

This latest effort from director Jack The Zipper is high on concept, low on plot. There’s not much of a story here but like a lot of the director’s earlier movies, Cannibal Queen shows a knack for composition, setting a scene, and capturing raw sensuality. This is an all girl feature with very little live sound in it shot with a variety of methods and tinkered with in post production so those hoping for loud, bright gonzo lesbian porn will probably walk away disappointed but if you’ve got a taste for the avante garde and don’t mind some art with your smut, give this a look.

Scene 1 – Gorgeous cover girl Valentina Vaughn struts around on a beach, nicely lit and looking great, as the opening credits scroll onto the screen. She looks stunning, a picturesque and exotic beauty and the camera loves her. From here we just watch her as she relaxes in the sand, soaks up some sun and some surf, and plays with herself a bit. From there, surfer girl Jayme Langford arrives on the scene. The girls fondle one another and eventually Lee’s bodysuit comes off. Valentina gets her down on all fours and plays with her ass and pussy and more or less takes charge of the scene. She’s not going to let Jayme get off without what for, however, and before you know it Valentina is spread on Jayme’s surfboard and getting her pussy fingered and sucked on before they finish up by moving into a sixty-nine which seems to more or less end with Jayme sitting and grinding into her new best friend’s pretty little face.

It looks like this is Zoe Minx and Valentina Vaughn but again, the camera moves a lot and doesn’t focus on faces and without any scene credits supplied, there’s definitely room for error on the part of this writer. At any point, from there we go into a scene with Charmane Star masturbating leaning against a tree by a beachside fire, which is pretty neat.

Scene 4 – Things wind down nicely with a little blonde on brunette action that takes place in a dark beachside hut of some sort. Lit only by a fire, this scene is grainy and not as detailed as the others, which might put some off, but it definitely furthers the voyeuristic feel that it seems like the director was going for here. These girls take their time with one another, stripping slowly and removing one bit of clothing at a time before actually getting completely buck naked. Of course, they enjoy one another’s bodies along the way, and there’s lots of fingering and pussy eating here and some high quality ass licking too. Our dark haired player pulls out a strap on and puts it to good use, cramming it right on into blondie’s snatch, pulling it out from time to time and making her fellate it. This scene actually has a lot of live sound, which always makes things hotter so it’s already the best one on the disc just by default. Valentina shows up and this turns into a three way the two earlier participants taking turns tonguing and sucking her holes front and back while the strap on makes its way into various orifices. Scene 5 – Last up are some dances and bits of solo play from the various ladies who have populated the cast so far in the movie. The get down in the dirt, sand sticking to their bodies in a strangely arousing manner, and show off what makes them special.

Video:

This shot on video production looks pretty clean presented here in a reasonably stable 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen presentation though it does need to be said that some intentional post production degradation has been done to the image to make it look dirty in spots, especially during the black and white bits, and the last scene was shot with dim light and as such it looks very grainy and gritty. There is some mild edge enhancement in a couple of spots and a noticeable bit of mpeg compression evident in some of the darker colors and the blacks but these aren’t a big deal. Skin tones look nice and natural, the compositions are dead on, and aside from the fact that this digital video production looks like a digital video production and as such suffers from the minor defects usually associated with the format and the aforementioned ‘jaggies’ (which only affect some scenes) the movie looks alright.

Sound:

The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track is quite sufficient. The moans and groans in the last scene are clear enough and that’s really the extent of the live sound you’ll hear on this release. The soundtrack is mixed in properly at a respectable level most of them time and overall things are nice and clear. High five to whoever did the music for this one as it’s pretty cool.

Extras:

Extras kick off with a quick 2:29 deleted scene in which we see Ms. Vaughn come out of the water, topless, wearing a gas mask before she takes it off and struts a bit for the camera and then masturbates a bit. Aside from that, there are trailers for the feature, trailers for a few other Jack The Zipper projects, a still gallery, animated menus and scene selection.

Final Thoughts:

If Cannibal Queen won’t win Zipper legions of new fans it will please those who have enjoyed his work so far in his career. The disc is weak on extra but it looks good considering the aesthetic that the production crew was going for and the girls? Hot, hot, hot. Recommended for fans of lesbian porn, just keep the whole artsy lack of real sound thing in mind when you take that recommendation into account.
