Audio/Video Quality: Forsaken was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Dana Vespoli for Evil Angel. The visual elements were not so easily categorized this time as the surreal nature of the feature elements did not lend themselves toward such a description. Suffice it to say that a whole lot of weird and wild camera tricks were used to make this one remind me of a host of classic porn titles from my youth, the difference being that there were also a number of very clear sex scenes included too, the surprise ending such that I’m not going to be one of those dumb fucks who ruin it for you by spoiling the ending. The fleshtones and costumed sex all helped make this one a fine little effort on the visual front, my wish that a second disc of extras be included to explore what the director was going for in some portions of the movie or how it all was brought together in a detailed BTS be included. For the record, there was a company watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen. The aural components of the show were another matter altogether in that no convention of contemporary porn was left alone, the special effects extending to the music and such, the vocals easily heard and the music blended in to make this aspect of the feature stand out as above average, your mileage may vary unless you are into experimental art type of fuck flicks.

Body of Review: Dana Vespoli is one of the sexiest directors we’ve had blogging at Xcritic, her latest works for Evil Angel showing she is finally ready for the big time of directing. Her first flick as director for the company is called Forsaken, a feature with all sorts of hardcore sex, Dana herself involved in much of it too, with a retro style of presentation reminiscent of “Night Dreams”, “Behind the Green Door”, or other classics that were big on creativity in their day. While most fans of Evil’s other directors typically prefer straightforward gonzo, company leader John “Buttman” Stagliano routinely proves that features are not dead, his growing stash of awards and nominations serving as proof positive that there is a market. I’m not going to go into the feature elements for you as others might, the chances being that I’d reveal too much being just too great but suffice it to say, this was a very appealing fuck flick that did not seem to be so tied to current industry conventions, Ash Hollywood, Phoenix Marie, and Samantha Ryan all looking their best in their respective roles.

The company website described the movie like this: “Star performer Dana Vespoli is the newest member of the Evil Angel roster of elite pornographers, and for her debut production, the gorgeous and intense fetish queen has created a feature film made up of several passionate fuck scenes. "Forsaken" is the story of a girl who wakes up in the woods with blood on her dress, but no wounds. She has no memory of who she is and sets off to solve the mystery, having flashbacks of her life and meeting some creepy characters along the way. This is one girl's dangerous sexual odyssey into a devious, dreamy underworld, where she bears witness to acts of depravity and cannot decide if she's truly lost... or merely dreaming. Scene One: Dana Vespoli, the exotic director, was up first in a short tryst where her hairy snatch was already getting plowed by James Deen, the man unleashing his wad of spunk all over her face within moments of the couple being introduced. While not truly a full scene with all the trimmings, it showed a lot of energy and enthusiasm, I only wish a fuller version were available as an extra if not to be shown in the movie itself.

Scene Two: Phoenix Marie, a curvy blond extreme queen with a great ass, was up next with sexy Dana Vespoli, both of them outfitted in revealing lingerie that enhanced their bodies. They began the scene on all fours beside each other, their wonderful asses in the air as they kissed. Phoenix had on a fishnet body stocking with red satin top while Dana had a completely open view of her snatch and ass thanks to a PVC fetish skirt, her own red corset laced up to cover her frame. Ash watched them as they went at it on the pool table, the camera not as fluid as I prefer but spending a lot of time on their asses as they made out. Dana appeared infatuated with Phoenix’s ass and gave it plenty of attention, Phoenix’s flapper dress working for her as she took the dominant role to savor Dana’s ass. As she kept tasting Dana’s ass, Phoenix pulled out a large dildo to fuck her with anally, Dana reciprocating with a metal speculum on Phoenix to explore her inner workings while gobbling her gash. While it lacked a complete ending in my opinion, the scene was highly charged and erotic to the point of being award worthy, the scene much fuller than the last (or next) scene.

Scene Three: Dana Vespoli, still wearing her studded collar and now in a black skirt of sorts, was then up in a scene well underway where Michael Vegas was vaginally porking her on a bed as Ash rested nervously nearby. Michael sucked her toes and licked her legs, the active vaginal tryst including Dana slobbing his knob and throating his member, her devotion to getting him off soon moving to him plowing her ass as she passively took all her had to offer. He slapped her ass and she cleaned him off as well as sucked their juices off his nuts, Dana enjoying the additional positions of anal sex and fingering her gave her. Scene Four: Ash Hollywood, the attractive blond featured on the front cover, was up next as she showered in the luxurious bathroom, various imagery giving glimpses into her past as she cleaned up. Summary: Forsaken by director Dana Vespoli for Evil Angel was edgy, artistic, and will certainly appeal to a discriminating audience looking for something way, way off the beaten track. If you prefer straightforward gonzo sex or enjoy the multitude of porn conventions used in contemporary movies, you will probably find this one obscure and off the mark but I suggest you give it a chance to see just what kind of weirdness the director can come up with when given the freedom to explore deeper themes than usual, Ash Hollywood given just enough of a meaty role to show she has potential for bigger and better things. Rating a movie like this is tougher than usual since it does not appear to be shooting for broad based appeal as much as shock value, my appreciation for scene’s two, four, and five enough to merit a healthy Recommended all by themselves. In short, Forsaken was a walk on the wild side of Dana Vespoli’s imagination, a decidedly different kind of romp than she has been allowed to make elsewhere in my opinion, and likely a good start to her newfound position as a director at Evil Angel so check it out and let me know what you think of it.
