The Movie:

Director Jonni Darko’s latest for Evil Angel focuses on the ever popular tattooed lady fetish, and for good reason. Sometimes it’s nice to see a pretty gal all decked out with some illustrated ink, the kind that doesn’t wash off. Of course, like any other kink, quirk or fetish your mileage may vary but it’s safe to say that at this point in the history of North American society, tattoos are just as much a part of life as sex is. So why not mix them? Right. There’s no reason not to, so sit right back and enjoy these five scenes, completely unrelated except for the fact that they each feature a heavily tattooed tart in crazed carnal action.

This shot on digital video production looks pretty clean presented here in a reasonably stable widescreen 1.78.1 presentation. There is some mild edge enhancement in a couple of spots and a considerablye amount of mpeg compression evident throughout in the darker scenes. Skin tones look nice and natural, the compositions are dead on, and aside from the fact that this digital video production looks like a digital video production and as such suffers from the minor defects usually associated with the format, everything looks as good as you’d realistically expect it to.

Sound:

The Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround track is quite sufficient. The dialogue comes through cleanly and clearly as do all of the moans and groans. There is no background music used anywhere during the feature aside from the opening credits and the levels do tend to fluctuate quite a bit from scene to shining scene but aside from that there isn’t much to whine about here. The audio is fine.

Extras:

Don’t expect much in the way of extras, though there is a cum shot recap, a still gallery, a collection of trailers for other Evil Angel releases and some filmographies included on the disc. Aside from that? There are some ads for web sites, animated menus and scene selection included on the disc as well.

Final Thoughts:

Whore’s Ink doesn’t really do anything we haven’t seen done before, in fact, outside of marginally playing up the tattooed side of things, it’s fairly standard gonzo porn. With that said, as formulaic as it might be at times, it is well performed by a solid cast that is both enthusiastic and (seemingly) genuinely into things. The sex is fast, furious, uninhibited and pretty pants tightening to watch. There’s not a whole lot here in the way of extras but the audio and video quality is pretty good. Not an essential release but if you dig tattooed ladies, consider it recommended.
