Audio/Video Quality: Down The Rabbit Hole was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director B. Skow for Girlfriends Films. Skow handled the photography of the movie along with Mike Towers, a dreamy, artistic look to most of the scenes observed throughout the show. The editing was minimal but generally reasonably well handled, some quirky jumps at times but not completely unexpected given previous releases. The lighting and fleshtones of the performers were handled decently too, some tinting and glare spots but not as a general rule of thumb in most of the scenes. The audio was presented in stereo English, most of the levels consistent in terms of the vocals and minimal scoring applied. Sonically, it was nothing out of the ordinary but it was not bad by any means either.

Body of Review: B. Skow has made scores of excellent movies over the years, his distribution deal with Girlfriends Films allowing him substantially more creative freedom as well as giving the company a platform to delve into sexuality involving male partners at times. His latest title coming in for review is called Down The Rabbit Hole, a gonzo flick centering on anal sex in each scene. Unlike some of Skow’s very appealing features distributed by the company, this marketed the first that I have seen that tried to compete with the gonzo crowd, one of the most crowded fields around. As such, I wondered if he could compete given his casting of attractive ladies some might consider second stringers (some on the rise though). The back cover described the movie like this: “The squeal and scream, squawk and squirm but in the end they all love anal. Watch beautiful Holly Michaels, nasty Asphyxia Noir, cute Chastity Lynn and more, open their pretty little puckers to some of the biggest dicks in porn. Just when you think they'll never fit, they make it fit. And just when you think they can't take it, they achieve the kind of shuddering orgasms that only a good ass fucking can bring. It's teases and please master B. Skows first all anal feature and it won't be his last.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Summary: Down The Rabbit Hole by director B. Skow for Girlfriends Films was truthfully advertised as having every young lady do anal, the biggest problem I noticed being the largely lame male cast used as meat puppets and the artistic manner in which the scenes were shot coming in second. The low budget nature of the scenes did not help either though I have to admit that even if few would argue the ladies were top performers, they were by no means third tier losers either; each possessing the kind of ass most men would love to play with all the way. Still, given the balance of elements provided here, I thought the movie merited a rating of Rent It, my adoration of Chastity Lynn and Holly Michaels aside, there just wasn’t enough meat to the bone here to compete with the seasoned, high end gonzo companies and their often double disc efforts. In short, Down The Rabbit Hole was a fair first effort at an all anal gonzo outing but a huge upgrade in male casting, a more straightforward method of shooting the visuals, and better extras would definitely help Skow upgrade his future efforts to surpass this one.
