Audio/Video Quality: Beautiful New Faces was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director B. Skow for Girlfriends Films. Using high definition cameras, Skow set forth to provide an upgraded experience from his award winning “Brand New Faces” series that I always appreciated, having seen others jump on board in support until the director left his former employer. Mike Towers handled the camera along with Skow and PP Peru, and Sonny Malone was the editor, allowing Skow to interview the ladies without dealing with all the ongoing issues involved. Mike has long proven to have a steady hand and Sonny a keen eye for polishing up the resulting footage, the flat lighting and varied camera angles giving some visual diversity in the four lengthy scenes. There was no continuous company watermark on the screen and while certain portion of the footage looked like a filter was used to soften the image, the overall look of the show was solid. The aural components were likewise nicely done, the 2.0 Dolby Digital encoding added in during post production to limit the background noises, no evidence of a boom mike used to get better vocals or anything other than a camera attached microphone as with most porn.

Body of Review: B. Skow needs no introduction on the pages of Xcritic, the talented director having had his praises sung loud and often by a multitude of critics as well as having contributed some blogs over the years himself. His current distribution deal with Girlfriends Films has allowed him to break free of his former corporate chains and offer up a wealth of variety in his works of late, some of them truly outstanding. His latest venture is called Beautiful New Faces, a showcase for attractive newcomer ladies to strut their stuff akin to his infamous “Brand New Faces” series but without the gimmick of the “contract” signed regarding a performance as a “first”. Personally, I prefer seasoned performers that are not always looking at the camera instead of a partner, that have learned to enjoy the sex, and that do not equate screaming at the top of their lungs with having a fake porn orgasm but the allure of a fresh newcomer drives much of porn even today. The listed ladies in the single disc show included Alina Li, Karla Kush, Ana Foxx, Abby Cross, and four men of varying talents, a diverse selection of performers to say the least. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Alina Li, the sultry Asian hotty featured by herself on the front cover, was up first in her sexy cover outfit, Skow interviewing her as the visuals alternated between a tease montage of her stripping in bed and her sitting in front of him. Skow’s decades in the industry allowed him to cut right to the chase in terms of his observations, making Alina extra nervous as she tried to earnestly answer his questions in a manner that just doesn’t happen in modern porn. As a result, Alina actually came off better than if she was pitched easy questions though the director seemed rough when he pushed her on issues like what she didn’t like (going to the extreme of using farting trannies at one point), the dichotomy of the visuals (tease) versus the content (the interview) getting a huge nod from me. She masturbated and was then put into a vignette of sorts with Keni Styles, the two not limited to a generic tryst like the old series. They fell on the garishly colored couch and were all over each other, Alina teasing him in her cover attire before he gobbled her gash, the bald beaver inviting to look at. Ana made a valid point about interracial porn when Skow broached the subject, the sexual omnivore embracing her heritage in a most positive manner. The scene showed the ladies getting dressed into slutty attire, Alina in a tight skirt and Ana in some bright pink booty shorts, some lesbian antics in the bedroom soon changing when Steven faded into view with the ladies all over him (not my favorite method of introducing a character via editing by the way). He was already sporting an erection outside of his pants, Ana kneeling down to inhale him orally though Alina wanted some too. The playful oral and foreplay led to both women actively riding his bologna pony vaginally, their taste testing continuing as no one was left alone for any length of time. Both ladies looked good here and the scene ended as expected with Steven busting a load all over Alina, Ana licking much of it up to share with the gal playfully.

That each scene was given plenty of time to address both dynamics enhanced it for me though time will tell if it gets stale as most formulas tend to in the industry. While the ladies might not have been first time fuckers, they had enough experience to look good in their respective scenes but not so much that they looked shot out, a common dilemma, making it clear that Skow has another winner on his hands. I rated the movie as Highly Recommended based on all these merits and more, the selection of ladies including Abby Cross, Karla Kush, Ana Foxx, and Alina Li a very nice change of pace. The technical values helped make things work and while the extras relied heavily on a previously released scene, a little more attention to this area might help keep future ratings up. In short, Beautiful New Faces was the latest industry starlet showcase series for newcomers worth knowing about, a broad selection of ladies included here rather than a group that looked much alike so pick this one up and see what you think because I seriously doubt this is the last we’ll hear of this one as a potential series.
