Audio/Video Quality: Misha Cross: Wide Open was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen the scenes were originally shot in by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel, this time, the director sharing some of the credit with his current gal pal Kayden Kross. The quality of the visuals was generally good here, the lighting and editing combined with occasionally steady camera work to make this one harder to describe. Individual scenes were shot in such a way to put forth a light story by Kayden, some of the editing looking sloppy in a couple of scenes. I thought they worked well with the minimalist storyline but this was not your typical gonzo outing and I figured you should know about it. The company watermark was also prominent in the lower right corner, something I do not generally care about though many of my readers do. The audio was offered up in 2.0 Dolby Digital English but there was no separation noticed that I could figure out, and the dynamic range was pretty limited too; the scenes coming from quickly shot gonzo; the guerilla shooting style favored by pornographers everywhere.

Body of Review: Manuel Ferrara is the most sought after male performer in the industry, his directorial efforts at Evil Angel always starting off with an edge thanks to his participation in front of the camera. His latest release making it my way for review is for the upcoming Misha Cross: Wide Open, a showcase for Polish hotty Misha Cross to go all out in a starlet showcase including a lot of anal, a blowbang, and even a lesbian scene courtesy of Kayden Kross. Having seen newcomer Misha in a number of smoking hot scenes, many at Evil Angel, I knew going into this single disc title that it would be a lot of fun. If you’ve watched Manuel’s previous “Wide Open” titles with Sheena Shaw or Bailey Blue, you’ll know why he is becoming an expert at picking the best newcomer talents, one might hope for a similar effort starring ladies like Carter Cruise, Rose Red Tyrell, or numerous others worthy of such a flick.

The company website accurately described the scene like this: “Inventive director/lady-killing stud Manuel Ferrara and co-director Kayden Kross have dedicated an entire movie to a performer of striking passion. Misha Cross Wide Open reveals the titular brunette beauty's sexuality from various angles in a wicked, moody tale conceived by Kayden. Scene Two: Misha Cross then took on the mope squad of Jake Jace, Brett Ravage, Ike Diesel, Daniel Hunter, and Chad Alva outside on a sunny day in a blowbang. There were numerous cameo appearances in the party, some of them mentioned above, but sadly, the light story by Kayden did not incorporate them in any meaningful manner. Instead, the men followed her into the bedroom where they pawed each other, the men taking up opposite sides of Misha as they helped lower her dress to suck her boobs and gobble her gash as she spread her legs, the gal serving as a cock socket to throat for a time which resulted in her kneeling to orally service both men. There was some passion here, not on the same scale as she had in the first scene with Manuel but far more than she had with the dope mopes in the blowbang, her eye contact divided among the two in an appropriate manner. She did try to stuff both of them in her mouth at once but only partially succeeded, moving back to one at a time where she would blow one while the other fucked her, starting with vaginal penetration and moving to anal before ultimately doing some DP material with taste testing. The editing and camera work were a bit less developed than I’m used to from Manuel’s most recent efforts too but she took the facials of manly fluids well enough, the intense look in her eyes as she gave the post coital head a nice touch before the silly blathering of the story started up again. As the last scene, it had a lot riding on it, lesbian trysts typically seen as filler or at very least less hardcore to most fans even if I happen to appreciate them. Kayden’s nipples still looked like she just had a kid and her usual glow was present, I only wish that Manuel could have jumped in to elevate the scene into a far more strokable tryst with better replay value. The ladies kissed, caressed, and got slightly rough with each other, the gash gobbling and ass eating including a fair amount of fingering before the wealth of toys were used for the penetrative sex. As much as I thought the blowbang would be the weakest scene of the batch, this one came pretty darned close, I even watched it twice to see if maybe I was simply not in the mood but the lesbian anal was a far cry from the better work by either of them in other flicks, Misha going through the motions at least as much as Kayden who appeared to be performing rather than just enjoying herself. As far as the eye candy factor was concerned, both had it in spades but it simply fell short of what I was hoping for. Summary: Misha Cross: Wide Open by director Manuel Ferrara for Evil Angel had almost two hours of footage, the director doing a good job of showcasing sexy Misha Cross so I rated it as Recommended. Misha has already done so much in her admittedly short career in previous ventures that the blowbang and lesbian scenes seemed almost a step backwards for her and Manuel himself was only in one of the four scenes but the technical values were okay and co-director Kayden probably added something of use to the flick, it just wasn’t immediately obvious if you catch my drift. In short, Misha Cross: Wide Open was a single disc release but worth picking up if you like Misha Cross, those who do not yet might well be convinced that her antics merit more attention though as the sexy young lady did it all in style so check it out.
