Audio/Video Quality: Proud Parents was presented in a crisp, anamorphic widescreen as shot by director B. Skow for Girlfriends Films under their Skow Digital line. Skow edited according to the front cover (presumably using an alias in the credits as “Hashiell Dammett”) and worked cameras with Mike Towers & Sparta, the resulting visuals as good as any of his more recent projects. The visual elements looked good and worked nicely with the aural components, the lack of a company watermark and accurate flesh tones helped by solid lighting throughout the show. As expected, David Stanley wrote the screen play. The stereo aural aspects of the movie were nicely done, the vocals easily understood, the uncredited mood music impacting the quality of production in a good way.

Body of Review: B. Skow is easily the best known director at Girlfriends Films, his talents developed over many years for Vivid. One of his flicks that slipped by us earlier this year just came in for review, a title called Proud Parents, a story dealing with the usual family dynamics of parents wanting better for their children pit against a child’s decision to follow in the family footsteps. In this case, the parents are played by India Summer and Stephen St. Croix as a couple of former porn stars who do not want daughter Casey Calvert subjected to all they endured, my first impression being the career choice was better than politics or being a lawyer where you’d still screw lots of people, but you’d be screwing them over rather than providing anything of value for the exchange of money. Seriously though, Skow did a fine job outlining some of the issues in the dramedy, his choice of cast selection greatly enhancing the light comedic touches found throughout the movie. The back cover described the movie like this: “Stan and Marge were porn stars in the 1980s and 90s. Now their daughter Casey, wants to join the family business, but is afraid that Stan and Marge will forbid it if she confesses her plan to them. So, with a documentary crew following every move and without the help of her parents, and with barely the help of her fickle friends, Casey finds out she's going to need all the help she can get if she wants to survive the wilds of Porn Valley.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: India Summer, the multi-award winning brunette MILF built for speed over comfort, was up first in bed with equally talented Stephen St. Croix, the two needing a break from an interview to let loose some steam. This was a breakout role for Casey Calvert who was well cast as the lead and I doubt anyone else could have captured the family dynamics as well as Stephen St. Croix and India Summer given both are widely recognized as two of the finest industry actors that can still fuck on command with a degree of passion. In short, Proud Parents was a story most can identify with, the movie made more entertaining courtesy of the whimsy included along the way.
