Audio/Video Quality: The Booty Movie was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Mimefreak for new company Archangel under the Girlfriends Films banner. While not to everyone’s liking, I found Mimefreak’s movies for his last place of employment to be pretty good or better on average, the man a force to be reckoned with well before he was being formally credited as a director. Now that he is working for this new company, I expect great things from him, his use of solid amounts of lighting, a single camera, and elegance through simplicity greatly assisted by the careful selection of casting and editing by Royson Hall. The video bitrate was okay and on my big screen television the number of compression artifacts was modest, the lack of a company watermark offset by the slightly washed out look of the scenes but the overall visual experience worked for me. The aural aspects of the show were handled in 2.0 Dolby Digital, the vocals easily heard and the uncredited music during the tease sessions sounding quite familiar, my impression being the audio was captured on the built in microphone of the handheld camera.

Body of Review: Mimefreak is the primary director for new company Archangel under the Girlfriends Films label, his departure from Elegant Angel reportedly out of his control as the company imploded last year. As one door closes, another opens so the talented man started off the new company with a title near and dear to my lustful heart called The Booty Movie. The resulting movie offered up five scenes of modest length that focused on a splendid cast of curvy cuties with terrific booties, very little buzz heard about the flick since it was quietly released late last year while credible critics were busy voting in various award shows. Now, as I catch up on titles with some potential for next years’ awards, it was suggested that I might enjoy this opening salvo from Archangel, my adoration of shapely female ass and cast members like Jada Stevens, Maddy O’Reilly, and Jodi Taylor, well documented. That said, there was a lot to enjoy here for fans of interracial action, Prince Yahshua and Jovan Jordan standing out as male performers in a few of the resulting scenes, my overall impression that Mimefreak has laid down a solid foundation from which to improve in future releases, the brevity of tease footage my biggest immediate disappointment but the other factors helping to compensate. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Having seen five of the ladies in more titles than you could shake a stick at, I’ve seen much of their best and worst works to date, this one solidly in the middle of the pack in terms of their warm performances, Mimefreak no newcomer to getting a good performance out of his casts. The technical values were pretty good and I look forward to seeing what he comes up with next, his gonzo chops proven to offer strokable footage with some replay value. In short, The Booty Movie was as good as I expected having watched a great deal of the director’s works at Elegant Angel, I suspect he will continue to grow and improve as he continues to listen to fans and critics alike so check this one out.
