Audio/Video Quality: Most of the time, the picture looked very clear. The dvd set included two versions of the movie (one being "letterbox" with a slightly higher ratio of 1.85:1 versus the "widescreeen" version which had a 1.78:1 ratio-approximately) and both looked good in most cases. The audio was a mixed bag however as the voice over by Joel should've been removed (sorry, Joel) and the music was way too loud, especially when it covered the performer's vocals during the sex scenes, for my tastes.

Body of Review: Porn companies start up, and go out of business, all the time. To break into the already crowded market, you generally need a marketing gimmick or hook. No porn movie is going to be a good fit for every consumer-Red Light District and Evil Angel have Gonzo tied up, Wicked Pictures, VCA, Adam & Eve are the major players in Feature/Couples porn, etc. Surfer Pictures seems to have decided that using a tropical theme, such as filming in Hawaii, and focusing on couples oriented sex will be their niche. That's fine since healthy competition helps make other companies get better too. With that, I take a look at Club Tropixxx.

The movie details a reporter, played by Joel Lawrence, who is writing a story on a resort and it's lovely assortment of hookers...err, female attendants. He experiences some action with them and the plot is all but nonexistent. Fans of features will not be happy while fans of all sex will probably be ecstatic. The sex was all oral and vaginal-fairly tame these days-and the scenery was what a lot of ladies claim to want. In essence, mood scenery is the driving focus. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and action:

Scene One: Wendy, back when she was a blonde, took on Joel by a waterfall. The sex was oral and straight only but it was fun to watch. In fairness, I like her performances most of the time and the slow, erotic nature of the sex, combined with the lush scenery, made this a winner, if not the most blazing performance I've seen.

Scene Two: Jana and Teanna had a lesbian scene. It included mostly licking and rubbing with a single toy used a short time. While they looked like they were having fun, it was a bit limited and didn't have much replay value for me.

Scene Three: Fujiko, Taylor, and Joel had a scene on a beach. The sex lacked heat and the overbearing music track didn't help but it looked good. It ended with a facial. (mostly on Taylor).

Scene Four: Taylor, not satisfied with the last scene, had sex with Brook, and some guy named Noab had a scene on a couch indoors. With the tropics of the location, they went inside?!? In any case, the action seemed held back and at times, one gal would be left alone while he worked the other. Pass.

Scene Five: Taylor and Joel did each other on a hillside. Again, it looked great but other than a great BJ, the vaginal sex was weak.

Scene Six: Nikita, a Euro-hotty that most people who've watched porn are familiar with these days, had sex with Tony indoors. This was the sole scene where the actual production values weren't higher than average and it relied far too heavily on slow motion. Nikita being a well known anal diva, you'd think she'd have taken it here too but no such luck.

Summary: Not a bad entry into the porn market but it's obviously geared towards people who haven't watched a lot of porn. Those of us who are jaded and need more hardcore elements than this one provides will likely keep this around to introduce a new significant other to the wonderful world of porn (Look honey, it has pretty scenery!) but it needed some polishing up before I could recommend it without reservation. As such, it merits a Rental rating for anyone who's seen more than a few porno's.
