Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally shot on video. The movie was a low budget release from 1987, which is an eon in the porn world. The best the picture looked was grainy with lots of video noise since the source material was so poor. There were color bands and lots of mosquito noise too. The audio was presented in monaural English and was hollow but otherwise about what you'd expect. The music was too loud and distorted in the sex scenes which was typical of porn from the old days.

Body of Review: Every now and then, I get to review a DVD that comes from the olden days of porn, not the golden age (that'd be the 1970's to early 1980's) but the mid to late 80's, when video took over and the quality level plummeted as companies attempted to save money by catching any kind of action on cheap video cameras and sell the footage as decent movies (usually with a shiny, high-gloss box cover for the tape). This is the case with Jamie Loves Jeff. The movie was one of Jeff Stryker's straight flicks (he's well known in gay circles) and the DVD cover advertises this as one of his best selling movies. The story was about a couple from high school that have gone their separate ways and reunite at a high school reunion. Of course they reunite sexually, this is a porno after all, which made me smirk given Jeff's sexual preferences, and the story was pretty weak. The cast was not credited except for Tom but I think I can make a decent stab at the cast identities (write to Vivid if you really care) and here's the breakdown of scenes by cast:

Scene One: Jeff and Megan in the kitchen. The sex looked like a couple of amateurs going at it in an apt but included oral and straight sex (lol). It was okay but he didn't seem into it and she was looking to pick up a check.

Scene Two: Jeff and Jamie on a couch. This scene seemed a bit more energetic although the action was similar.

Scene Three: Tom, Megan and Kim in prop area at the reunion. It was actually pretty good for the scene limitations. There was the usual oral and straight with the gals jerking him off to completion at the end of the show.

Scene Four: Jamie and Erica had a lesbian scene in her office. This was one that could've gone on a lot longer and I wouldn't have minded. While it was mostly oral, it was also kind of fun.

Scene Five: Jamie and Jeff had the final scene upstairs on a bed. It was a bit more sensual than the other scenes and fun to watch. The music would've been better if turned off but it wasn't a bad scene to watch.

Summary: I hate to bag on old movies that I grew up with but this one's time has come and gone a long time ago. The production values were low and the heat nearly as weak in most scenes. There were no real extras, not so much as an unrelated scene, which makes me wonder why it was priced so highly online. If you really like any of the cast, pick up a copy but otherwise, Skip It.
