Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the industry standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color. It looked less grainy than Vivid's recent releases and except for some pattern noise in a couple of scenes, I think some definite improvements have been made by the company in terms of picture quality. The audio was presented in 2.0 stereo English with no closed captioning. The vocals were slightly hollow but not bad and the music was toned down a bit, which made them sound better than average. The DVD transfer did not appear to negatively impact either the audio or video here (although I saw a couple of artifacts here and there.

Body of Review: When I think of Vivid I almost always think first of their massive efforts to flood the market with compilations (hint: maybe of these compilations are quite good and affordable) but I quickly remember that they make a lot of feature porn as well. Using their rotating number of contract performers, the company often sits on a title until the time is right and this appears to be the case with the recently released movie, Set On Sunrise. The movie stars Sunset Adams as a Prima Donna porn star that drives everyone crazy with her bitchy ways. With a bit of movie magic, her director transforms another gal (also played by Sunset) into a spitting image of the performer and everyone is happy (except her of course). That's about all the plot you get here but the good news is that the sex was generally well done and the cast attractive so here's the breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Sunrise, the gorgeous gal on the front DVD cover, and the mighty Evan, had a scene on a porn set in front of the crew. The sex was surprisingly warm with the two displaying some real chemistry. It only had oral and straight sex but proved the point that you don't need anal to have a great scene. Yum!

Scene Two: Sunrise, still looking good, took on Lezley, in a bed. The couple had some great lesbian antics with energy and chemistry. I really liked it a lot with the long oral sequences. Fans of rimming will find a lot to like here too. Yummy!

Scene Three: Dee, the light skinned gal with a long history in porn, and Tristan, had a scene on a bed. It wasn't bad but compared to the other scenes, I found it sort of weak. Like the other scenes, it had oral and straight but the chemistry was lacking.

Scene Four: Wendy, sporting red hair, took on her then boyfriend Eric, on a mattress placed on the floor. He looked kind of goofy with his plaid hat on but she was nice and curvy. The sex itself was well done with her attitude shining through (much like Sunrise's in the earlier scene) and that made this a winner for me.

Scene Five: Sunrise, looking as frisky as ever, gave Dillion a ride of a lifetime in a living room scene. She was almost as aggressive as he was and that speaks volumes in and of itself. From the hot oral to the pounding straight sex, she proved that she's more than just a trophy porn star. Whew!

Summary: I enjoyed all but one of the scenes here and the technical qualities, while not perfect by a long shot, were improved over releases I saw earlier this year. With that much going for the movie, I'll lean a bit in favor of the higher rating this time and give it a Highly Recommended for any fans of Sunrise or Wendy since both of them were outstanding here. I'd have preferred better extras and a longer feature itself but when four out of five were as good as these were, I can be a sport. I look forward to seeing what other surprises Vivid has in store for viewers if they continue to improve their releases like this.
