Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 aspect ratio also known as full frame, as originally shot. I rarely expect much from gonzo productions but the Shane's World series is generally well done. There was some grain and moments of video noise but they were rare enough as to be no major concern to me. The camera angles and shakiness of the production are part of it's charm, much like The Morgan Sex Project series, but this style doesn't appeal to everyone. The audio was presented in 2.0 stereo English but there was no discernable separation between the channels. Most of the time, the vocals were clear and easy to understand but again, not always. There was little dynamic range too. I didn't see or hear any compression artifacts.

Body of Review: A long time ago, a little series made a lot of noise in the porn world, a series that combined aspects of a couple of reality cable television shows, The Real World and Road Rules, and those of the usual sexual antics the porn industry is known for. The name of the series was Shane's World and until volume 19, it was directed and produced by Shane herself. After that, a series of uncredited directors were put in charge of the project under the auspices of the gal Shane gave the series to. There was always a lot to enjoy in the series though, regardless of who was at the helm, since the idea was to show a small group of people simply having fun on a sort of vacation. Much of the time, the cast played around and teased one another, giving those "off to the side" interviews to explain where their head was at in a given moment. Other times, they actually had sex in all its glory, enjoying the fullest pleasures available for the camera. I hope to see as many of the Shane's World movies as possible (the older ones are now coming out on DVD with great extras) and the latest in the series is Shane's World 34: Miami: Collector's Edition, with a decent cast heading off to the land of interesting contrasts, Miami, Florida. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Serena, one of the fan favorites at the recent AVN show, Gia, a girl next door type, and Pete, had a scene in the Florida Everglades on a small boat. They did the usual oral and straight sex routine but the gals seemed to be having a good time with it (Pete always has fun) and there appeared to be a slight competition between them to see who would get Pete off. Both were talented gals and it ended with the traditional pop shot to Gia's breasts.

Scene Two: This was kind of an orgy in the pool and hot tub with Gia, Haley, Pete, and Manuel getting some action (heck, even Hollie got a little loving in for a few moments). The cast started off with oral and progressed quickly to straight sex with the guys hammering away on the pussy like this was the last sex they'd see in a month. The gals kept up, of course, and if I had to award Olympic medals, I'd say that Gia took the silver and Haley got the bronze this time.

Scene Three: Hollie was up next with Pete in the kitchen. She's the blonde with the curvy ass and tiny breasts that had gone relatively untouched until this point in the movie. She got to play with Pete on a bed, and went for the gold. Compared to her counterparts here, I think she had more experience, either on or off camera, and it shined through as she made it look like she was fucking him. Her energetic hip grinding, her eye contact, and her willingness to allow Pete some extra latitude when spanking her or otherwise engaging in sexual perversions made this a better scene than the others to this point.

Scene Four: Serena, all rested up and looking for some action, Gia, also ready for some French meat, and Manuel, the supplier of said meat, had a scene after a night of partying. I thought they'd stay in the bathroom but they took the scene to a bed for better leverage and the oral, lesbian, straight, adventure continued. I liked Serena better in terms of attitude but Gia was the better sexual performer this time and each did their best to coax a load out of Manuel's ready penis. At this point, I was happy that the sex remained fun and non-formulaic, since far too often, directors fall into that trap in porn (by the middle of the movie, they've run out of tricks).

Scene Five: Haley, having missed out on the previous night's antics, got to make up for lost time with Serena and Pete in a big bed. Serena shined this time, better than in any of her other scenes, partially due to the way her two friends played up to her strengths. She seemed to like tasting both of the other two and the result was Serena at her best. The sex was still oral and straight only (although with some lesbian licking) with some real chemistry and energy.

Summary: Much like Volume 28, this volume was plenty of fun to watch. The cast wasn't what you think of in terms of being ultra beautiful or glamorous but they had an accessibility that most porn stars simply don't have these days. I liked the actual sex of this volume better and the cast helped me enjoy it more so I'm going to bump up the rating to a Recommended. As always, your mileage will vary depending on how much you want to get to know your porn stars and how much you prefer the usually fake sex they have (in other releases).
