Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in anamorphic widescreen 1.85:1 ratio color. There was a touch of grain and some video noise but overall it looked slightly better than The Hitman, which was pretty good itself. There were no compression artifacts and the quality was good. The audio was presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround English. There was some separation between the channels, but nothing you'll notice on a high-end home theatre system. To sum it all up, I think Robby's improving on the technical stuff as he continues his career.
Body of Review: Those of you who read my reviews will know that I like feature porn when it's done right. That generally means decent production values, a good cast (with hot women), and some energy driving the whole venture. One of the most difficult types of feature porn to make is the comedy. The reasons for this are many but most of the time it comes back to the ability of a screenwriter and director to mesh with the abilities of the cast to create something that a consumer, typically not high on drugs, will laugh with, not at. The most successful attempts at comedy have been with Wicked Pictures director Jonathan Morgan but Robby D. has been making a name for himself of late too. His Jack's Playground series and other features have been improving in terms of their humor (or maybe he's sculpting his audience and bringing us up to his plane of humor) so it came as no surprise that his latest release, Digital Playground's Sex In The Valley, would be so funny.
The movie centered on a delivery boy played by perennial porn stud, Barrett Blade, as he attempts to stay employed while making deliveries for a convenience store in the Valley. It seems that almost every house he delivers to is involved in shooting a porno, and he often gets sucked into participating either as a performer or an assistant director. The humor is typically tongue in cheek, relying on some knowledge of how porn is really shot, but also just bizarre enough to tickle the funny bone of us outsiders as well. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:
Scene One: Anna, a hot blonde in need of some loving, gets to have sex with Barrett, for her birthday in bed (Wendy mistakenly thinks he's the guy she hired for the honors). She has him shake his ass a bit and then join her in bed, getting oral from him before the meat. They have vaginal sex in a few positions, quite energetically I might add, and it ended with a pop shot to her face. I think she had fun here, even if this wasn't the most extreme scene I've seen her in.
Scene Two: Bunny and Angel had a lesbian scene on a porn set. I've never been a big fan of either gal so even though I'm like most guys (and enjoy lesbian scenes), I wasn't expecting a whole lot here. Interestingly though, the scene was handled in a slow, erotic manner, with the gals giving each other a lot of foreplay and taking their time. This made me sit up and take notice (cough) because I've seen so many such scenes of late that the slower tone of the scene worked for me. Both ladies looked more toned than I've seen recently too, adding to the fantasy, which was mostly oral and fingers, with some minor toy use too.
Scene Three: Bridgette, one of the better-known anal queens in porn, had a scene with studly Alex on a couch. She started by giving him one of those lingering blowjobs she's known for and then riding his penis like she's getting a bonus for doing so. I've never liked her huge implants but she looked a bit more voluptuous, which made her look more appealing. The scene was a lot more basic than the two usually have (with or without one another) and it ended with a mouthful of goo to her waiting lips.
Scene Four: Alexis, a little Latino gal with a bit of energy, had a scene with Barrett on another porno set. She blew him and took some time to lick his balls before giving him a titty fuck. He went down on her before screwing her vaginally on a table. I thought it was interesting that both performers had pierced nipples, and wondered what it'd be like to tie them together. It must've been Barrett's fifth pop of the day because he barely dropped anything on her hairy upper lip.
Scene Five: Jezebelle, a brunette with a nice body, had a scene with Barrett on a couch. After a silly start, the two made out like long lost lovers, with him spending some time sucking her pierced nipples and massaging her body to get her in the mood. He then went down on her really pretty couchie before she gave him some warm head herself. Her eye contact said it all, she wanted him in her, bad. They screwed in a few positions and then dropped a big load on her face.
Summary: I would've liked an audio commentary and better extras but I had a good time with this one as a simple comedy. The women were hot, the sex fun, and the plot just structured enough to allow Robby D. to get us interested. In short, I can suggest Sex In The Valley as a Recommended movie to watch if you want to laugh and jerk off with the same movie. It made me wish that Robby were making more movies, but with the higher quality he provides these days.
