Will Your Twitter Account Be Deleted?

Last week, porn stars and their fans went into frenzy mode about the possibility of millions of Twitter users losing their accounts for Tweeting pornographic images. To quote Aurora Snow’s article on The Daily Beast, “Twitter is about to purge up to 10 million users that post pornographic material, and porn stars and adult companies are worried it’ll hurt their bottom line.” The whole article can be read here: http://uk.businessinsider.com/twitter-to-purge-10-million-users-2015-5

In actuality, Twitter hasn’t really changed any of the rules. If you’re a fan or porn star, you need to make sure you follow a few rules (AKA their TOS). This is how Twitter works:

  • Make sure that there is no topless, naked or even implied nudity in your avatar, header and/or background.
  • Go into your Settings, and then go into Account. Under Content and check the box that says “Mark media I tweet as containing material that may be sensitive”. This way “users can be informed prior to viewing”. If this box is not checked off, they could completely delete your account. It’s easy, so check the box.
  • You can Tweet topless, naked or even implied nudity, as long as you check that box off.
  • You also might not want to Tweet hardcore images, just in case things change.

And as a side note, you CANNOT post topless or naked photos to Facebook or Instagram. And with Facebook, even implied nudity can get you suspended, if they see it or someone complains.

Twitter is a great place to promo your site, movies, webcam time, etc. It’s free advertising and a good way to get even more fans. Just follow the rules, and keep your account.
