The expression Modern-Day Renaissance Woman can easily be applied to Monica Mayhem. Not only is she an established, award-winning, versatile adult star, the Aussie beauty is a published author as well as a feature dancer and musician. Her autobiography Monica Mayhem: Confessions of an Aussie Porn Star is her insightful and no-holds-barred look at her continual flourishing career. She is also one of the best and most respected feature dancers in the world. Furthermore, Monica's love for music has created her rock band Sweet Avenge. She writes the lyrics and is the lead singer. Last, but not least, she also had a hot appearance in the Sex and the City feature film with costar Gilles Marini. The guy who was on Dancing with the Stars.  

 

Hi Monica, how long have you been in the industry, what have been your most pleasurable moments so far? What has been your least pleasurable?

 

Hi! I've been in the industry for 9 years now. Most pleasurable moments, well, that's hard to decide since I've done about 400 movies, and have had alot of great scenes with some great talent. My favorite movie to shoot was Dark Angels 2, where I got to play a vampire and do a kick-ass fight and death scene with special effects. Had a hot scene with my co-star Evan Stone.

 

Least pleasurable moment, probably the one where I worked for a certain director who is always yelling at everyone, and yelling at me for no reason, which was very upsetting and I could have punched him after that was over!

How did you get into the adult industry?

 

I was dancing at the Spearmint Rhino in London, after having worked in Financial Markets for 6 years prior. I met one of the owners of the Spearmint Rhino one night, and dared him to fly me back to the US with him that same night, and he did! The rest is history!

In recent years, you have been working more as the seductress of younger men or, a Milf as the industry would label it. How do you enjoy getting those types of roles and being called a Cougar?

 

Well I haven't yet done the Cougar thing! It's weird being called a MILF, because first of all, I don't have any kids, second, I thought the meaning of MILF meant that you could be old enough to have a teenage son, whose friends want to fuck you. And starting MILF scenes at age 27, kind of freaked me out a little. But you know, it's just a fantasy when it comes down to it, and whatever works, I'm happy to do it!

Congratulations on your recent AVN nomination for Best All-Girl Sex Scene for The Violation of Harmony. With your solid performances in Milf-Mania 2 and Pretty Panties Dirty Girls, you have received much praise. What does all of this recognition and respect mean for your career?

Thank you! That's funny because I talked about the Violation of Harmony in my book, where I stuck my foot up her pussy! haha. It certainly means alot to be nominated for an AVN award, that's the industry leader when it comes to awards and recognition, so it really helps keep your name out there.

One of your main passions has always been music. Your band is Sweet Avenge. Please tell me about it and it's future plans.

I'm always going to continue writing and recording music when I actually have the time. It takes alot of time and money to do these things, and alot of organizing with the band and everyones crazy schedules. So it's going to be a long process before we release a CD and start touring. Time will tell, but I'm not giving up!

You are breathtaking in Boy/Girl and Girl/Girl scenes. What traits of a woman do you admire most? What makes a woman sexy? What traits of a man do you admire most? What makes a man sexy?

I really base everything on personality in the end. Women, I love curves, pouty lips, nice butt. As far as traits go, intelligence and a good sense of humour works best for me for both men and women. Men, I like them to be fit, but not over the top, I don't like the really big muscle guys, just someone who takes care of themself, I prefer rugged or rocker to clean cut and preppy.

What has been the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry? 

I'm not really sure, but The one thing I was shocked about when I got in the industry, along with every other Aussie I've told, is the term 'inter-racial', I asked what it meant and why they called it that. I was completely shocked and thought that was racist. I realize now that it's not racist, it's just each individuals preference as to which ethnicity they will and won't work with.

Are there any industry people (actors, actresses, directors, etc.) who you have not had the opportunity to work with yet and want to very badly and why? What would be your dream scene?

Well, I always loved Carmen Luvana, she's a hot little latin girl, but no longer in the business. Always wanted to work with Jill Kelly, I just think she has that certain something that just makes you want to take her and fuck the shit out of her. And then there's Tera Patrick, seriously just hot with those huge tits and long legs. And last but not least, Janine, who I actually have just set up a content shoot with for January! So there is one off the list! haha.

How were you as a kid growing up?

I had a very rough life with an abusive alcoholic mother, which I talk very openly about in my auto-biography. Therefore, I was extremely rebellious, and used to get in alot of fights, have sex at 14, do drugs, drink etc.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Writing, cooking, music, yoga, traveling, wine tasting, anything outdoors, wild animals. The list goes on!

What's your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

I get to have sex with numerous different people and not feel like a big slut! lol. Getting paid to do what I love to do, and having the freedom to pick and choose who I do it with. And of course, making people (the fans) happy, bringing pleasure into other peoples lives.
