Every year, untold numbers of ladies jump in to test the waters of the porn industry, some making a far bigger splash than others. Over time, the best of the lot find fame and fortune while the rest seem to fade away into obscurity but our pick for the 2009 Performer of the Year, Kristina Rose, is clearly one of the best of the best. A bundle of energy and enthusiasm, she broke the barrier in Elegant Angel's Dirty Girl late last year and has meteorically scaled the porn Pantheon in gonzo and sitcum parodies alike. The Xcritic team consistently find her to be both endearing and smoking hot at the same time, the young lady a true find as much as a pleasure to work with.

Say what you will about some of her competition (and this year there was some hefty competition) but Kristina is a delight to watch perform, her work with top male talent like Manuel Ferrara enough to leave us wide-eyed and mystified that their chemistry can be so high yet their pairings so awesomely nasty, the kind of smut we just don't see too often given the fake howls and moans so commonplace among her peers. You can argue that there are some who are more picture perfect looking or some who take the term "extreme queen" so far that the resulting circus act sex is akin to an Olympic performance, but as a well rounded performer not hampered by contract or dozens of minute "rules", Kristina Rose certainly exceeded all expectations this year.

While we expect even more from her in 2010, she managed to end last year with a bang thanks to her scenes in shows such as Kristina Rose is Slutwoman, Raw 2, Full Streams Ahead #2, Up 'R Class #6, Ass Worship #11, Buttman's Stretch Class #2, Seinfeld: A XXX Parody and This Ain't The Partridge Family XXX.
