Kelli McCarty Interview

During the past decade, porn had been seeping into the mainstream more and more. However, no one could had predicted the shock and awe that reverberated among the entertainment industry when a former Miss USA titleholder said that she was going to star in her own adult movie. Kelli McCarty, Miss USA 1991 and actress of the popular soap opera Passions, decided on her own to delve into the porn world. Her curiosity, determination, and courage must be admired for taking this huge step which definitely worked out for the best. Her film Faithless from Vivid Entertainment was recently nominated for Best Video Feature and she for Best Actress. Kelli McCarty has opened the door even wider and it will be great to see who else will follow in her shoes.

I actually approached Vivid and asked them if they were interested in doing a movie with me. As a former Miss USA and mainstream actress the decision was something that I thought long and hard about before moving forward with my idea. After meeting with Steven Hirsch, I knew I had made the right choice in working with Vivid.

I admire someone who takes a genuine interest in others. I find confidence and a sense of humor to be the sexiest traits, be it a man or woman.

The open and detailed talk about anal sex that everyone seems to be very into these days. I don't know if it's because I am new to the industry, or if it's the "in" thing to do now. It's not something I am going to do, but it cracks me up when I hear these other actors/actresses describing it in a way that's as laid back as if I was describing what I had for lunch. 

I would love to do a girl/girl movie with a French pornstar that I met at the AVN convention, but I didn't get her name dammit.

I was a tom boy and played sports all thru school. I worked for my mom installing swimming pools, teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding. I couldn't wait to move to Los Angeles. 

What are your hobbies and interests?

I am always encouraging people to rescue their dogs and cats. I have 4 rescue dogs that are my children. I do a lot of yoga and I love painting dachshunds, bedazzling toilet seats and designing my line of yoga pants called SkinnyCarter.com I also have a new website xxxkelli.com that I will be updating weekly with new content. 

What's your favorite thing about having worked in the adult industry?

I think that being able to go from mainstream to the adult world and back to mainstream is pretty cool. ...Plus, no one has ever done it before.
