Wicked Girl Kaylani Lei interview

Among the Wicked Girls, I have always considered Kaylani Lei to be the most adorable. She is the one that you would want to give a warm hug to whenever her heart breaks in her films. In addition, Kaylani appears to have the most fun on set too. Who would not want to hang around with her? But, one ability that she does not receive enough credit for is her acting ability. She gets overshadowed by other actresses. If you want to see a sentimental Kaylani, then watch Eternal while Mad Love and Blind Date will showcase her silly personality. Her true fans know and realize what a special and talented woman Kaylani Lei is.

Hi Kaylani, I enjoyed your role in The Prize as the adorable anal fearful woman who finally gives in to her fella because she loves him so much. How much fun did you have playing this character?

I had a blast playing this character as it actually wasn't too far from my real-life experiences in the past. It always helps to work alongside other talented and fun actors, as it makes me have so much fun on set, and you can see the chemistry between the actors. We all definitely had a great time working on this movie, making fun of the dialogue, and how there are so many different ways to describe anal!

I enjoyed seeing The Rocki Whore Picture Show win AVN Best Parody - Comedy. How thrilling was it to see so many hardworking people get the well-deserved recognition for this well-produced and well-acted movie?

It certainly was a well-deserved win, that's for sure! Not only did Brad Armstrong go full force with his limitless creativity and imagination on this hilarious parody, but the entire cast went above and beyond to create a perfect comedy and re-create the already popular, well known and very established characters. Everyone was so on point with their individual characters that this entire parody came to life and brought back memories of the original movie. What was the most flattering was that a ton of die-hard fans of The Rocky Horror Picture Show said that the cast did such an amazing job emulating the original. Now that is a major compliment!

I think that it is cool that you are part Filipino. I am half Filipino and half American Indian. What is your ethnicity? Do you speak Tagalog?

I am Filipino and Chinese. I get asked about my ethnicity more than anything, and I have certainly been pegged for being just about every ethnicity you can think of! It’s hilarious what people have come up with at times. I do not speak Tagalog, but that is something I would definitely like to learn eventually. And I know the majority of my Filipino fans would get a kick out of it.

You have been a Wicked Girl for several years now. What does it mean to you to be a Wicked Girl?

It means I have been spoiled rotten and wouldn't want to be performing any other way! Seriously, being with Wicked exclusively has been a wonderful career experience over these many, many years. I am so lucky to be a part of a great company that produces such an amazing body of work with some major award-winning titles. I wouldn't even know how to be anything other than a Wicked Girl!

How long have you been in the industry, what have been your most pleasurable moments so far? What has been your least pleasurable?

The pleasurable moments in this industry definitely outweigh the least pleasurable. I have had the pleasure and honor of meeting some amazing people during my travels, both fans and industry people. I have had the privilege of traveling to some amazing countries for appearances and dance gigs. Meeting with my wonderful supporters and fans is probably my favorite part of my job because the fans are truly the best and the most important reason for my existence in this industry. I also really enjoy being on set, and although we have extremely long shooting days, it's still such a blast on set messing around while rehearsing lines with your fellow actors.

How did you get into the adult industry?

I started off as a dancer at a gentlemen's club in Vegas, and I was not good at it at all. I also had a day job in retail at a department store. Someone who worked as a manager in the adult industry at the time approached me about doing some nude modeling work. The idea seemed appealing to me as I had always been comfortable being naked in front of people, so why not a camera? I went on a trip with my then-manager to Los Angeles and met up with several porn agents until finally signing with one. Immediately after that, I began working in front of the camera. It instantly felt so liberating and fun to be in front of the camera having sex. I was immediately comfortable and turned on. At that moment, I knew this was the industry for me. Everyone I met was so nice, humble, and friendly. Shortly after my first few movies and very first AVN show, about 7 months in, I was approached by Wicked to be a lead in a movie and suddenly an opportunity had occurred in which I could be a Wicked Girl. I jumped at that chance and have been a Wicked Girl since.

You are breathtaking in Boy/Girl and Girl/Girl scenes. What traits of a woman do you admire most? What makes a woman sexy? What traits of a man do you admire most? What makes a man sexy?

The trait I love in a woman most is the sexy, fun-loving nurturing side. And since we all know what we like, well, women just know how to do it best. I love how we all prep before a scene to make ourselves feel hot and sexy, like oiling up and spraying scented sprays, glitter, and perfume. It’s all very feminine and sexy at the same time. The men in this industry are amazing in that they can be performing under challenging situations - the weather, the crew, and having to deliver a pop right on the spot when the director tells them to do so.

What has been the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry?

The wonderful and positive feedback I have been receiving from friends, fans, and family. And how much the adult industry has really been respected lately and been portrayed in a positive light for the most part.

Are there any industry people (actors, actresses, directors, etc.) who you have not had the opportunity to work with yet and want to very badly and why? What would be your dream scene?

I came into the industry as a big fan of Kobe Tai. She must have just got out of performing as I got in so I never had the privilege, or should I say great pleasure, of working with her. If I had a chance to ever do a scene with her, I'd be on it in a heartbeat. I think her scenes are incredible and have yet to see someone match her performances.

How were you as a kid growing up?

I was like a little miniature princess! I loved pink, had an all pink bedroom, pink canopy bed, and pink dresses with horrendous laces and ruffles.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Traveling is by far my favorite. I have been taking boxing classes lately to stay fit and I recently learned tennis and snowboarding. And of course, I love talking to my fans. They can see more of me at www.wicked.com and talk to me directly at twitter.com/kaylani_lei.
