One of the best and most pleasing non-sex roles in adult films of 2012 was Nikki Charm's performance in Diary Of Love. Her fans have been waiting to see her in that type of role for a long time. She was so good in it that there was disappointment that Nikki was not in a sex scene. This legend, who is in the AVN and XRCO Hall of Fames, is a true beauty with a never ending sex appeal. It was a blessing to see her return to porn with long time film partner Tom Byron in Seasoned Players 16 back in 2011. I hope that Nikki will continue to receive worthy film roles so that her talent is not wasted. Legends never lose their talents and Nikki Charm has many of them.

Hi Nikki, your acting performance in Diary of Love was so outstanding that it would had been a crime if you had not been nominated for Best Non-Sex Performance for the AVN Awards. I was disappointed in that you were not shown more often in the film. Could you tell us how your experience was in preparing and filming that movie? How did you get the role?

In preparing for the role, I thought about my experience watching "The Notebook" and how it affected me and most everyone who sees it in a very personal way. I really wanted to do the same thing in my role as Ally's mother. I wanted to touch the audience and make them root for Ally. I'm not sure how I got the role. I've known Jim Lane (Powers) for a long time and I mentioned to him that I was looking for a good acting part. I was surprised and delighted when he offered me the role.

What are your thoughts of Presley Hart who plays your on-screen daughter?

I like her very much. She is so beautiful and her body is perfectly toned. She is super sexy and that comes through in her scenes. I could tell that she really enjoyed the role and cared very much about giving a great acting performance as well.

In your opinion, how has the adult industry changed for the best and the worst since you first appeared in porn?

I think the industry has changed for the best in the sense that we've come back around to story driven plots being portrayed by a very large and talented pool of actors and actresses. I think it may have changed for the worse in the sense that girls coming into the business may rush into every aspect of their careers to the point where they over expose themselves and hence, we have a large turnover of many, many super starlets and few Super Stars.

How did you get into the adult industry?

I got into the adult industry by design. I found out one of my close friends was doing porn when I was 16. I looked at her and said "Hey, if she can do it, I know I can!!" I planned, plotted, and tanned and on May 2, 1984, about 2 months after I turned 18, I marched into Pretty Girl International and signed with Reb Sawitz.

What has been your most pleasurable moments? What has been your least pleasurable ones?

My most pleasurable moment was the birth of my child. The least pleasurable moments were when I was separated from her for 25 months during my incarceration.

Could you tell us how it felt working in those remarkable Swedish Erotica films?

It was a privilege. We would all fly up together to San Francisco. Usually the same motley crew. A family. They always had the best make up, wardrobe, and scripts that were really fun to act out.

Back in the day, I loved your acting performances. What are your feelings on the recent revival of using storylines in adult movies such as parodies and features?

I love it. I had the opportunity to work with Rob Black and Tom Byron on many of these types of films. Being on the production end of stories like; "Captain America XXX", "Ironman XXX", "Taxi Driver XXX", "Training Day: A Porn Parody", Batgirl XXX", and "Birds of Prey XXX" was an honor. It was amazing to be a part of the process from pre to post. The story driven movies have, I believe, given a husband and his wife a really nice product to share and enhance their sexual experience.

I have always been someone who thought that male performers deserve a lot of credit for their work. Could you mention a few who you felt were your best on-screen male partners?

Tom Byron is always my #1. I also enjoyed working with Paul Thomas, but mostly I always requested Tommy. Recently, I would say Richie Calhoun for sure.

You have also been paired or also have known some of the most gorgeous and remarkable women of porn. Could you mention a few who you felt were your best on-screen female partners?

I loved working with Tracy Adams, there's a blast from the past!! My best scene with a girl by far is with Tori Wells in "Miss Directed" for Vivid and directed by Paul Thomas. Recently, I had the honor of working with Nina Hartley and that was always a dream of mine. The real thing was even better than the dream!

There is no doubt that you ooze sexuality which in turn creates heated passion with your on-screen partners. What makes a man sexy?

Power. Attitude and eye contact.

What makes a woman sexy?

Dominance. Confidence and some exotic quality I can't quite name.

What traits do you admire in a man?

Loyalty. Intelligence. Humor.

What traits do you admire in a woman?

Trustworthiness. Tenderness. Fairness.

I enjoy seeing you as a Milf or Cougar nowadays. How does it feel knowing that younger guys find you so attractive? I love seeing you in those films where you and someone playing your daughter have sex with a lucky guy.

I'm always surprised when a younger guy shows interest, and very flattered. I have always preferred older men so it's really a new and unexpected experience to be with a younger man.

Are there any industry people (actors, actresses, directors, even studios) that you would like to work with if the time and situation were right or if they were around when you were making films?

I wish I would have worked with Erica Boyer. And I'd love to work with Xander Corvus.

What are your hobbies and interests?

My hobby is building. I grew up the daughter of a studio set painter and worked with my brother from time to time installing kitchens and bathrooms from demolition to brand new. I love to use my hands to build something beautiful. I like to boogie board (too chicken to stand up and surf), dirt bike ride, and spend time with friends and family. My interests are work related. I love to be on the production end of a good movie!

How were you as a kid?

I was at the beach every weekend with my family. I lived in a great neighborhood where I ran in a pack of about 12 kids. We grew up together. We had skateboard clubs, first kisses together, and published a neighborhood newsletter. I was happy and free, just like I am now!

What is your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

The people that I have met and become close with, some of whom are now life long friends. I have had the most amazing journey in this business. And it doesn't suck to be able to make grown men blush with just a sly smile.

What would you like to say to your loyal and supportive fans?

I really do love them. I dare anyone to find a duplicate autograph that I signed at a show. No matter how long the line, I always took a good moment for some eye contact, a real smile, and I would find out something about them so they know they matter to me. They were all very sweet and respectful and some of them still track me down at every show. I love, love, love my fans!
