Audio/Video Quality: Jack's Playground 17 was presented in anamorphic widescreen 1.85:1 ratio color. The colors were sometimes a bit too saturated but aside from some minor grain and video noise, the show looked pretty good and never distracted from the sex taking place. The audio was presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English but the use of the audio format was not really great since most of the sound came from the center channel. While this comes as no surprise, especially since the budget of most porn movies is so small, Digital Playground is world-renowned for being on the bleeding edge of technology and a number of fans appreciate their efforts.

Body of Review: Comedy porn is one of the most difficult things to pull off without making the cast (and director) look retarded. For the most part, fans want to see sex when they watch porn, not lame attempts at humor so you have to give credit to the people that try something new once in a while rather provide the same old in and out you get everywhere. One such company is Digital Playground and their most popular series is, of course, Jack's Playground, directed by Robbie D. as he details the life and times of a guy trying to score with women by portraying a rock music video director. There's more to the series than that but suffice it to say, Jack's Playground 17: Montel Probes For the Truth, followed the formula as expected and fans of the cast will likely be happy with it. I didn't see the last volume but Jack's Playground 15, wasn't the best of the bunch and this one reminded me a lot of it too. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast and actions, noting that condoms weren't used in most of the scenes:

Scene One: Amber, the cute brunette on the front DVD cover wearing a pink bikini, was up first after Evan had a silly moment practicing for a satanic role in a hooded outfit. While I kind of wished Teagan would've joined them (she sported her new breasts and two postage stamp sized bathing suits), I thought this couple were well suited for an opening scene on a table. He licked her crotch a little and she played with his skin flute and balls to prepare him for the action of driving it deep into her wet pussy. She's a cutie to watch out for as she showed some serious potential as yet untapped.

Scene Two: Jayna, the lean cutie on the left side of the front DVD cover is pretty well known in porn circles as a gal that could milk a nut without even trying. She showed off her sweet ass to Eric, as she wore a fishnet top and tiny blue shorts that crept up her crotch. Her oral skills were exceptional although they weren't pushed to their limit with Eric (sorry bud, I call them like I see them) and rather than reciprocate, he had her riding him vaginally right afterwards. It was a slow, sensual fuck the likes of which she usually doesn't do so fans of that kind of thing may like it even more than usual. It ended with a decent sized pop shot to her face (and eye; ouch!).

Scene Three: Jamie, the attractive brunette featured on the right side of the front DVD cover, was up next and having watched many of the JP series, I knew that meant she'd be doing a solo scene rather than taking on another gal or porn stud (sadly enough). She was playful and fun as she stripped on the bed and showed off her all natural body nicely. The masturbation sequence was interesting but marred by some poor camera angles (her shoes got in the way) and shadows that limited it yet I think I'd like to see more of her in the future.

Scene Four: Porscha, a gal that looked like an Italian-American girl next door, had the next scene with Joey after some comedic bits about his sexual orientation. She looked kind of tired with bags under her eyes and some of the baby fat still on her frame but the scene wasn't bad, if uninspired. It was a straightforward oral with vaginal sex that ended with a mouthful of semen but it lacked energy or chemistry so I can't really say it worked for me (I also hated the blemishes she had all over her face and crotch).

Scene Five: Ariana, a very lean brunette that really didn't appeal to me much at first, slowly warmed her way into my heart (and crotch) after she put her skills to the test by masturbating on Robbie's couch. She could stand to gain about twenty pounds (in the right places) but fans of young, pretty gals will probably bust a nut or two watching her in action. In all, she was another I'd do in a heartbeat but wouldn't really drop a lot of dough on to tap her so your mileage will vary.

Scene Six: Marie, a light-skinned black gal that seemed about average to me, began her sex scene by sucking off Eric back at the apartment. I didn't really like the extreme close up nature of the scene at first but it did kind of work for her as she put her gloriously fat DSLs to the test. This was another slow ride but it didn't work as well for her so I had to admit her work at Mercenary Pictures seemed hotter. It had oral and straight sex only, making it okay for fans if no one else.

Summary: Jack's Playground 17 was worth a rating of Rent It to me due to the cast, technical values, and amount of fuck for the buck. Unlike the Teen America series that spun off of this one, it isn't long enough to satisfy the average consumer and with a running time of under 90 minutes with few extras (trailers are kind of lame, sorry), most people are going to agree that this is best suited as a rental. Robby pulls off the humor aspects of the release just fine but there wasn't enough sex for me and I can only hope he's allowed to do a bit more with his talent than churn these out every month like product.
