Extra's: The extras, and movie itself, were so rich in extras that the show required two discs to contain it all. If that's not a good sign for great extras, nothing is. First up on the second disc of extras was the bonus blowjob scene by the strangely attractive Aidan. For 16.5 minutes, she managed to tease, torment, and then suck a piece of Jordan's life away through his penis. She wore some nice lingerie and gave him a titty fuck before taking a healthy facial; making it a solid extra. Coming in for a tie on the extras front was over 29 minutes of great deleted footage with most of the cast during their scenes. A lot of it could've easily been integrated into the main show but I could see why some of it fell slightly short of the mark and was included here. There were also trailers to Ass Worship 6, Flesh Hunter 7, Feeding Frenzy 5, and Gina Lynn's Dark Side, a cast list, some filmographies, a photogallery, a coupon for the Las Vegas Fashionistas show, a Jules Jordan biography, and of course, the rest of the movie.

Audio/Video Quality: Perfect Specimens 2: Grand Openings was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that it was shot in by director Jules Jordan. Much of the work here was done in point of view (POV) fashion as Jules was getting in on most of the action here but wanted to hold the camera in order to chronicle his sexual exploits for history. This caused a few limitations such as a limited amount of medium to long shots but many fans don't care (at this time; once everyone starts doing it, and they have already started copying him, they'll move on). There were a few problems with lighting that caused some minor grain and video noise too. For the most part, the colors were accurate as were the fleshtones and the DVD mastering was decent, with only a few compression artifacts and moiré present from time to time (a friend told me that if I scanned the scenes, there'd be a lot more but why kill the scenes by doing that?!?). The audio was presented in a basic stereo set up with little discernable separation or dynamic range but it suited most of the scenes as though they were a slice of life in a week at Jules' house.

Body of Review: A growing legion of fans call Jules Jordan a master of gonzo porn and I'm starting to see their point. After all, he won the best director award on DVDTalk's 2004 Top Porn List, and several of his releases were prominently mentioned as reasons why, so if a large group of reviewers, as supported by their audience, saw fit to bestow him with such a nod (he also had some hits on the previous year's list), maybe there's more to him than meets the eye. His style usually involves a lot of tease footage, great extras, and a camera that favors POV action but there's more to him than just that. Like an archeological dig, there are layers to this guy that most of us have yet to uncover and while he still needs a bit of polishing with regard to his technical skills at times, his eye for talent and ability to obtain great scenes out of sometimes mediocre gals is well established in the industry. That said, his latest release was among my favorites in a long, hard time, Perfect Specimens 2: Grand Openings: Director's Cut. In this release, Jules provides two discs full of twists and turns (and turns twisted at times) with a bevy of beauties that'll cause the director to be the envy of his peers for some time. Without further ado, here's a brief glimpse of the action by scene that'll be on the top lists for some time if my guess is correct:

Scene One: Christie, a blonde that has been making something of a comeback in porn of late, was first up in the show. Her picture was located on the upper left hand corner of the front DVD cover in the blue shorts with the butt munch action going on. The scene began with Jules presenting her with a birthday cake stating Happy Anal Birthday on it and her bent over ass looked fit for fucking as she licked the penis shaped top of the cake. She gave some tease, initially using a blow up doll that Jules goofed about for too long, and then the sex began. Jules managed to go down on her (she reciprocated handily) in several positions (including a bout of face sitting) until she was ready for the screwing of that tight pussy of hers. Jules pulled her butt plug out after she was thoroughly stretched out and a long time later, he was plugging away at her ass. For a first timer, she did a good job of taking him on in all of her holes with a lot of flair and energy as well as some chemistry. She did ATM as well as she had done some PTM and he gave her a facial to remember at the end of the initial part of the scene. It wasn't over at that point though, Arnold, Scotty, Brett, Johnny, and James came over to celebrate the party and gave her lots of tube steak to appreciate and appreciate it she did; using her superior oral skills to get them all off in a circle jerk of sorts (like Jules' Feeding Frenzy series). She swallowed all of their semen down easily (and there was a lot of it to swallow) and the scene is simply a must have for fans of Christie Lee. The scene clocked in at over an hour in length and was well worth a "Whew!"

Scene Two: Mary, looking much like current favorite Sativa Rose, was dressed up in a French maid's outfit sans the underwear, just like she looked in the middle of the front DVD cover. Fans of Latina women and maid fetish action both will appreciate her work here with a feather duster but like most excellent tease footage, it gave way to a solid scene of heated passion; this time with huge Mandingo for some interracial action. The fact that his penis was nearly as thick around as her forearm should've been my first clue that she was going to have to be dripping wet to handle this guy (or at least use a gallon of lube) but she slobbed his knob and balls as though she were on fire; taking in about half of his shaft length before riding him hard and wet. I nearly lost it when her ass cheeks started hitting close to the top of his balls (you could see her stomach protrude as they screwed). She then did some PTM before jerking him off to a large load with her dirty talk. Wow!

Scene Three: Sabrine and Cris, the two Asian cuties located in the middle of the lower front DVD cover, showed why Jules went back to them after their stunning performances in Invasian. Scene Four: Cali Marie & Cherish (The Twins), a couple of 19 year old identical twins, were proudly on display by Jules after they entered his house. They weren't exactly my type except that they WERE TWINS!!! I love twins! In any case, they were on the middle of the left hand side of the front DVD cover if you'd like to see what they look like. These Ohioans intrigued Jules who was showing them his house as though he was renting them a room and after they came across his meager porn collection, the stage was set for them to pounce upon his penis. Their bodies were very lean but the so-called "twin factor" was strong so Jules was rock hard in moments. Now, usually specialty acts like this are very fussy about what they will and won't do; that's just an observation based on a number of years watching porn. The only thing they didn't do was directly spend a lot of quality time together and that's understandable (unless your motto is: "Incest is best!"). Regardless, while there wasn't the kind of chemistry I prefer to watch in my porn, the energy levels were a lot higher than I expected and the twin factor added points, regardless of their individual appeal.

Scene Five: Keri, the blonde in a black dress featured on the front DVD cover (right hand side) was up last in this gonzo masterpiece after teasing the camera from the second story balcony with her all natural frame. This was billed as her first anal scene and I just knew that porn hound Jules would be up to the task. Admittedly, she was also leaner than I prefer but she had some moves that made me reconsider that stance and once the clothes were on the floor; she really shined. The tease footage was exceptionally warm (she was erect the entire time too) but the oral (by both of them) seemed enjoyable to all as well. Her energy levels during the vaginal were great and even in the anal she managed to shine above most of her peers in the movie. It was clearly discomfortable but she took it like a champ. The scene ended with a bit of ATM and a moderate facial. Yum!

Summary: Perfect Specimens 2 is not exactly what I'd call perfect but it was extremely pleasurable with a great many reasons to like it for a long time. The cast, the action, the diversity of the scenes, and the sweet extras all made me feel comfortable rating this as…DVD Talk Collector's Series latest addition. It won't appeal to fans of couples sex and it sure won't make uptight people think porn is a good thing but the sheer amount of fuck for the buck, combined with the passion and energy of a cast willing to go the extra mile, made this a winner beyond that which we usually see often. If you have any interest in seeing a gonzo release this year, you'll want to check this one out, even if the cast wasn't made up of brand new gals (which was never stated, only implied).
