Extra's: When a movie this lengthy takes up the better part of two discs, you generally don't whine about the extras package being somewhat limited but this one had some decent stuff to round out a good overall DVD presentation. The 21 minutes of deleted sex footage was actually well done and added some value to the show. There wasn't a lot of non-sex stuff going on so many of you will find it jerkable too. There were trailers to shows like Perfect Specimens 2, Feeding Frenzy 7, Flesh Hunter 8, Dark Side, Once You Go Black 4, Flesh Hunter 7, Ass Worship 6, Feeding Frenzy 6, and others, a photogallery, some filmographies, a biography of Jules Jordan, a fetish menu, a cast list, and a coupon for the Las Vegas show of Fashionistas. While not the best extras package put out by Evil Angel, it wasn't bad either.

Audio/Video Quality: Ass Worship 7: Assphyxiation: Director's Cut was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that director Jules Jordan shot it in for Evil Angel. It didn't look as good as Ass Worship 6, due in large part to levels of grain and lighting more than anything relating to the sometimes offbeat composition of the shots but it still managed to outshine most of his peers at the company. No one truly expects the technical qualities of one of Jules' movies to look perfect (because they never do) but the general levels of heat were such that only the most discriminating of you will find significant fault with how he has presented the sex here. The fleshtones were sometimes too dark, the editing a bit weak, and the occasional compression artifact distracting but few of you will care about any of that since the amount of solid material was so plentiful. The stereo audio was in English and about as basic as usual for Jules too but I could hear anything said in the movie with only some background noise to get in the way so I'm rating it average.

Body of Review: One of the worst things a porn director can be labeled is boring or too into a formula since even the best formulas will eventually stop working for consumers. This is the most common criticism of Jules Jordan by his critics, a statement I could argue either way. For now, I can safely say that Jules is on top of his game in terms of presenting heated sexual performances between consenting adults for your viewing pleasure but he could be even more so I sometimes fuss at the way he does things the same way time after time. His latest flick is the sequel to one of his best releases, Ass Worship 6, the brand new Ass Worship 7: Assphyxiation: Director's Cut. In the two disc set, there was over four hours of sex, some decent extras, and a cast that would cause envy in almost every production company this side of Red Light District. While not the best volume of the series, there was a lot to like here so if you're still interested, read the following breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used in the making of the movie:

Scene One: Katsumi, the Asian hotty featured on the front DVD cover (dead center wearing the neon purple fishnet stockings, black mesh top, and gloves) was up first in the movie. I'm not exactly her biggest fan but her performances have long been appreciated by adoring fans and for good reason; the gal is a sexual dynamo! Is it any wonder that when fan lists of top gonzo anal performers are made, she always seems to make it in the top ten? Regardless of my musings, she followed the general formula that Jules uses in almost all his movies by teasing the camera in her fetish outfit for best effect. I know some of you have indicated that you'd rather skip this kind of thing and go straight to the sex but I strongly disagree as this kind of thing can make a movie for me (almost by itself). 17 minutes into the movie, she was joined by none other than the director himself, Jules Jordan, as she sat on a barstool that made her ass look phat! (a good thing friends) He worshipped her ass as she began working on his penis and her oral action was well done (though not her best work mind you). He screwed around with her pussy and ass but also used some toys to spread her open more, giving her some taste testing to do while getting ready for some solid anal activity. He pounded away on her ass in several positions and the scene eventually ended with the usual facial. In terms of critical success, the scene was not her best work but managed to showcase why she's a fan favorite for all her energy and passion, if somewhat stilted chemistry (this time at least). Visually though, this was among Jules' best work to date, a welcome improvement over some of his other works in the past.

Scene Two: Lauren Phoenix, arguably the top anal queen in porn (or at least in the top three), was up next as she got ready for her scene by primping in the bathroom mirror. Her picture was located on the lower left hand side of the front DVD cover in the sexy black outfit that hugged her sweet curves nicely. Her all natural breasts and well rounded but tight looking ass combined with her pretty face made her a great choice for the second scene, partnering her up with Scotty Lyons, Benjamin Bratt, and studly Mark Wood. Dressed to thrill, she walked down the stairs to meet the tied up trio of guys (well, Mark and Ben count as guys) and teased them with her body to the point where most of us would've popped off round one in our pants if placed in similar circumstances. The action was nothing out of the ordinary (for her at least), including oral, vaginal, anal, DP and the assorted related tricks posed to her but her energy levels were high and anyone into gonzo porn will find this a solid scene in all but the most twisted of ways (i.e.: if you want to see circus act sex, this won't be the best scene to catch any of it). She ended the action with some swallowing of their loads but that was just the icing on the cake as she proved her place in porn once more. Yum!

Scene Three: Vanessa Lane, a sleek brunette (perhaps redhead; the lighting made it look like one, then the other) that has caused a bit of a stir in some porn circles of late, was up next wearing a black and blue PVC outfit that did little to hide her assets as displayed on the upper left hand corner of the front DVD cover. Her make up looked garish and she has looked better in other releases recently but I have yet to meet a lot of guys that'd turn her down if given the chance to do just about anything she wanted them to do with them if you catch my drift. Unlike Katsumi and Lauren though, my observations of her lead me to believe that she's not naturally into the action (as they most certainly are) so I hoped to see what the star maker himself, Jules Jordan, would do with this opportunity to direct (and fuck) her. After the tease footage, she sat on the toilet but didn't use it for anything other than a seat but Jules came up behind her in a blindfold to act as her human toilet paper on her ass. The scene started getting better after that with some heated oral, solid vaginal and very well done anal where he might've done most of the work but she contributed enough to elevate her standing in my mind. Fans of taste testing, particularly ATM (ass to mouth), will find this scene a pleasant diversion too but she still needs to work on her skills before she'll approach the levels of the first two gals here.

Scene Four: Brooke Haven, the curvy hotty located on the middle of the left hand side of the front DVD cover in the pink rubber outfit, was up next in a scene with Mark Ashley. I admit that the tease footage was very solid as she made me ache for release while watching it but the actual sex wasn't as good for me. I thought she was far better here than elsewhere that I've seen her but she seemed too mechanical in the way she approached the sex and Jules' zooming in on her stretch marks sure didn't help either. In any case, her curves looked good to me and she did the usual tricks up to and including anal with taste testing (but not much ATM so don't get your hopes up). In any case, it ended as expected and it was a decent, if unexceptional, scene to enjoy once or twice.

Scene Five: Gia Paloma, the now light haired gal located on the left hand side of the front DVD cover (second one down with her fleshy ass on display), was up next wearing tight pink pants and a spray painted top that bore the slogan "Tramp" as she brought Jules Jordan a requested light bulb to screw in. Okay, we all know that the only screwing going on was going to be these two going at one another and while I initially thought Gia's ass looked padded somehow, the test of the fact was when she pulled down her pants (no obvious padding folks!). Her hair somewhat askew, she teased with the best of them here before doing everything requested of her. I've seen her in some pretty great scenes and I've seen her in some lame scenes so I wasn't sure what to expect this time but she gave a solid, if not her best, scene with the usual sloppy oral, the hard core boning of her holes, and some toy usage that was more involved then the other gals in the movie. I liked when she swapped out her pants for the neon blue short shorts and her attitude throughout the scene was very positive. In all, it was a good scene with lots of replay value but in need of some polish.

Scene Six: Flower Tucci, the blonde located on the right hand side of the front DVD cover, was up last in this plethora of pussy as she wore her fishnet, neon pink body stocking with matching thong that showcased her curves as nicely as anything she had done with former boy toy Seymore Butts. The tease was once again top notch with her then taking on Jerry and Mark Wood as though she had an itch to scratch. The oral wasn't her strongest point but she gave head better than most of her fellow performers and the vaginal sex followed along the same path. She did the second best anal of the flick with her taking top honors for the dirty talking she did once she got motivated by the meat. I really liked the oiling up footage (not enough of it though) and the chemistry she displayed outdid anything else in the movie with the energy levels on the high end too. She could use a few sessions in the gym but fans of slightly fat asses (meaning the cottage cheese look) will probably disagree. With lots of ATM and some good DP footage, it ended nicely and helped keep the rating it was wavering on with a strong finish.

Summary: Ass Worship 7: Assphyxiation: Director's Cut was worth a rating of Highly Recommended due in large part to the amount of fuck for the buck it had to offer a consumer but also for the better scenes being so totally terrific in many ways. The movie won't convince any of Jules' critics that he's adopted a less formulaic approach to making his generally well received movies but fans will feel comfortable picking this one up for the long haul. With lots of anal, oral and other forms of sex play, the routine (though minor) visual defects won't bother most of you enough to make it an issue given all that took place and the movie was one Jules can be proud of given the multitude of weaker releases on the market at this time. Check it out and know it's hard to go wrong where Jules Jordan (or Evil Angel) is involved.
