Extra's: There weren't a lot of extras this time (Celeste movies aren't known for extras folks) but I liked the 8.55 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage as shot by Max Massimo. There were silly jokes, including material with the now infamous Cody Bangs, and the usual pop up video style goofs on people. There was also a decent photogallery and slide show with trailers for shows like Loaded, Way of the Dragon, My First Porn, Pirates, Story of J, Rush,Mrs. Behavin, Posh Kitten, Virtual Sex With Teagan Presley, Virtual Sex with Jesse Jane, Teagan: All American Girl, Devon: Decadence, Teen America 10, Devon: Erotique, Teagan: Erotique, Contract Star, Sex in the Valley, No Limits, Erotique, and various Jack's Playground titles.

Audio/Video Quality: Marvelous was presented in the same 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by cameraman Robby Dallas for director Celeste for release by Digital Playground. In terms of lighting and sheer quality of picture, the movie was looking as solid as anything shot for the company in HD with the scenes all being distinctively captured in slightly different variations as Celeste likes to do. The lighting varied too much to nail it down to a particular style but suffice it to say that the female eroticism Celeste sought to achieve was in full bloom in all the scenes (as always). There was no grain or video noise observed, I saw no compression artifacts, and the composition of the scenes was such that all the gals were made to look fantastic. Celeste's slow motion, heavily edited visuals were also used a lot so make no mistake about it; if you've liked her past work for the company, you'll also like this one but the reverse is also true (I'll always prefer watching regular motion sex but feel the appeal to some people for this style can be very high too). In terms of the audio track, the bad news for me was that the vocals were again completely missing in favor of a very appealing set of musical pieces that embraced jazz (lots of sax and piano in particular). I'll say it yet again; I prefer vocals over music every time but if the use of this type of photography requires losing the vocals as Robby personally told me last month; at least the music was well done. It was a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround track and had some decent separation and dynamic range, with the various selections providing a nice aural setting for the visuals in the large mansion it was shot in.

Body of Review: Celeste is the Digital Playground director selected to represent their more erotic films designed for a completely different audience than their regular fare. As a change of pace or to watch with a gal pal of mine, it can be a lot of fun but still best taken in small doses. If there are unintentional mistakes in her movies, I general don't see them but as analytical as I tend to be about some things, I don't sweat what I consider the "small stuff" as some have accused me of. That said, her latest release is another showcase of the lovely and talented Jesse Jane called Marvelous. The scenes were all shot on HD in a large mansion, using the luxurious setting for more of the glamour-shot photography associated with the name "Celeste". In terms of best showing off the lovely starlet, I had mixed feelings since she looks so good in regular motion movies but as a contract star she doesn't make enough stuff for me to be picky. That said, here's a quick breakdown of the ten scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used and that Jesse was featured in half the scenes:

Scene One: Jesse Jane, in a flimsy little yellow dress, was up first on the staircase with Scott Nails as though they had just come in from a night on the town (he was dressed in black). They felt each other up and kissed while a saxophone played in the background, playfully toying with one another even to the point she sucked and bit his nipple. He acted in kind and worked his way down her body to orally take her from behind whereas she lifted her leg to allow him better access to her crotch. She then took a turn at sucking him off, using her hand to gland technique and ball tonguing action to enhance the experience for him. They then screwed energetically in a few positions (with the piano jumping in more on the score) before she took the load to her face.

Scene Two: Sandra Shine, looking all gussied up in what most people would consider a negligee well outside the realm of porn, was up next in a solo masturbation scene on a chair. She looked right at the camera as if to include the audience in on her fun and slowly rubbed herself as massaged her breasts as though she were thinking of that someone special. Some of the reverse camera tricks were startling (making her breasts pop up instead of down) but the use of her tongue wasn't a bad idea and I hope to see it done more in the future. In terms of her physical appearance, she definitely looked a couple notches more elegant than usual so fans will have something special to look forward to here, even if the action was all tease.

Scene Three: Jesse Jane,up again in a light bondage scene with the large breasted Codi Milo, came down the staircase to find Codi bond by the hands to the cage of the freight elevator of the mansion. Jesse's outfit was simple but sheer including a white top and purple see thru panties. Upon freeing Codi, the couple became intimate with Jesse actually lifting her off the ground before some breast play. They took it to the floor and Jesse applied lipstick all over Codi's body in a somewhat weird fashion, aggressively playing with her and trying to get her off orally. Sadly, Codi was just a play toy here and didn't get a chance to reciprocate but it was a visually interesting scene nonetheless.

Scene Four: Alicia Alighatti, looking much like Sandra from the earlier scene, was barely dressed at the top of the stairs as she jilled herself for the benefit of Chris Charming. The colors looked surreal and he spent a lot of time tanning her backside with a good spanking, clipping her cheeks to quickly redden the flesh ever so slightly before squeezing and rubbing that perfect ass to prepare for the rest of the action. He seemed to get off abusing her but only on the surface as it seemed he also worshipped her finer qualities with her blowjob coming across as slow, deliberate, and as if to get him hard for the insertion portion of the action more than to simply get him off right then. The couple screwed with equal vigor rather than have him do all the work, making it seem like more fun than if she had simple kicked back and allowed him his way with her. It ended when he jerked off on her feet but that was it.

Scene Five: Jesse Jane, in her tribute to Liberace, sat at the large white Steinway in a yellow top and white panties as though she were playing a tune. Her strip tease after she got up was inviting more than anything else but she didn't have a partner; leading me to think she was simply offering herself up to the viewer on some level more than usual. This converted into a straightforward masturbation scene but she was so intent on the camera that it was clear she did so for more than personal pleasure (as most of the solo scenes from Digital Playground seem like). Her fingers were inserted numerous times (remind me to kiss them next year) and the scene ended after a lengthy bout of self love on the floor.

Scene Six: Claire Robbins, a newcomer with an almost tomboy look to her, has been something of a mixed blessing in porn over the last several months. She makes some great scenes and some really weak scenes rather than consistent in terms of her action. In this next scene, she was glamorized up in a hairstyle reminiscent of the 1930's or 40's, teasing partner Scott Nails to a jazzy score. He jumped in to spank her and then spend some time orally pleasuring her. This led to her blowing him rather nicely and the two boning vaginally and anally. The chemistry of the scene was undeniable although I'd love to have seen them do the deed at regular speed too since that would better show the passion somewhat missing between them in the slow motion style the movie was presented in. She has a lot of skill and while her potential is rarely reached, I think she offers something special when she hits on all cylinders. He did most of the work this time but unprotected anal with ATM is still something of a surprise in a Digital Playground release so I wasn't fussing. She did make a nice contrast to the mostly implanted cast of the show and fans of younger gals will find her a treat. The scene ended when he rubbed out a load to her hands and arms, with her cleaning it off with her tongue.

Scene Seven: Jesse Jane, in a surprisingly unlikely second solo scene, was seen shaving her crotch on the tiled floor, wearing stripper shoes and a white top as she looked defiantly at the camera. The reverse photography tricks employed once again were cool but weird and as a fan of the powerhouse, I admit to finding it fascinating to watch such a scene. She did some jilling of herself here too but the more modernized tone of the music seemed slightly less appealing (or maybe "off) is the word I'm looking for) so I enjoyed it primarily for the visuals, unlike the other scenes.

Scene Eight: Jesse Jane, dressed in a brown sweater and pantyhose, was up next on the bed with Jerry. He peeled off her hose and wrapped it on his penis, something fairly common according to a few female friends of mine, but instead of her jerking him off that way, she actually sucked him off and then rode him. I'm kind of curious what the sensation felt like since it's outside of my experience but he seemed entranced and she was in performance mode so I couldn't tell if she felt anything different in terms of the texture. The ride went to a conventional vaginal screw with her doing most of the work as the piano played, ending in a pop shot to his chest after some PTM by Jesse.

Scene Nine: Codi Milo, now given more of a chance to shine by a pillar near the staircase on the second floor, teased the camera and intermittently wore glasses as she jilled herself. I would've preferred seeing her in a full fledged scene with a guy (or even a woman where she would get to play too) but the slice of reverse flow action was appealing. It looked slightly jumpy at times but she's an attractive gal so I could live with it. Her freckles added an air of innocence to her face that all the adult themes of the movie couldn't wash away but I'd still like to see her in a more conventional scene.

Scene Ten: Jesse Jane, in the final scene, was up against the fancy bar attached to the mantle with Ben English pawing her as though he were feeling frisky over her see thru top. He snacked on her crack and she ripped off his clothes to blow him but as good as the action may have been in real life, it seemed more mechanical to me than most of the other scenes on some level. Jesse's a lot better now at having on camera sex than when she began the industry but for all the movement of her ass cheeks as he tapped her from behind (strictly vaginal though), she wasn't conveying a sense of excitement very well here. It ended with a facial to her mouth but I'd love to have seen a regular speed version to compare this one against given the nagging feeling that something was wrong I had in the back of my mind.

Summary: Marvelous continues the Digital Playground tradition of showcasing their contract stars in more erotic vignette form using the slow motion form associated with the Celeste trademark. The ladies were all great to look at and performed to the extent that the format allowed them to. The technical qualities were all top notch and the replay value was solid on most of the scenes but like other works under this banner, I was still left wanting more. In a sense, it was kind of like a kid in a candy store chowing away on candy before a big meal; it looked appetizing and tasted fine but there could've been much more to it that was skipped in favor of the glossy style. Still, it was worth a rating of Recommended even for those who've been living under a rock for the last three years and don't know who Jesse Jane is just as her loyal fans will see it as a golden opportunity to see her all dolled up like a silver screen goddess from the early years of Hollywood.
