Extras: The best extra was easily the 35 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. There was a lot of sex, some of the preparation for the scenes, and a bit of humor worth checking out. There was a photogallery and trailers to shows like Obedience School, Black Up In Ya, Cheek Freaks, and Short & Sleazy; along with a true double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Twisted Youth was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with a 1.85:1 ratio as shot by director Van Styles for distribution by Pulse Pictures. The lighting was handled well enough although there were times when the light pouring in through the windows should've been compensated for better. In all, the lighting minimized the grain and other visual defects gonzo tends to be known for, showing some care as the ladies were lit to accentuate their strengths. The composition of the scenes was handled similarly, showing Van tried his best to enhance their looks to the fullest extent possible, succeeding most of the time. There were a few compression artifacts observed but not so many that I'd lower the rating over them. In all, the visual elements worked well for the scenes. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo in English, lacking any separation between the vocals but also not being so dependent on the music which was generic most of the time (employed during the tease footage).

Body of Review: Having picked up a few titles from Pulse Pictures this week to review, I noticed that each director seemed to be offering up better looking material than I had seen from them before. I know some reviewers on other websites don't care about the technical qualities (given what they write about) but for me, such matters are essential in all but the most narrowly defined niche genres (reviewing mainstream stuff puts me in that position more than those who concentrate on the "good enough" qualities of modern, disposable porn). The latest of these flicks is by Van Styles in the form of Twisted Youth, a tribute to a number of gals that are still fairly young (though not all in their teens when the scenes were reportedly shot). They were definitely twisted however as Van's crew put them threw their paces, including a wealth of positions and depraved sex like anal and double penetrations. That said, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Marquetta Jewel, the lovely brunette hotty on the lower left hand corner of the front DVD cover who was very well received at the 2006 AEE Show, was walking along the roadway when the guys, including sexual commodity Kurt Lockwood, gave her a ride. If you really like several of the gals, the rating should be adjusted up a notch but the technical matters and diversity of the scenes provided some good replay value for me, making this one a reasonable choice to appreciate. I haven't seen enough of director Van Styles' work to say whether or not he's going to make it big but if Twisted Youth is any indication, he has a lot to offer the world of porn so keep an eye out on him in the future.
