Extras: For most of you, the 24 minute long bonus scene between the lovely Sasha Grey and mean old Jake Malone, will be the best extra. Jake is definitely an acquired taste and those who've watched many of his scenes will know how he tries to emulate Max Hardcore in some ways (while not going quite so far, his routine seems an act to me, used to differentiate his work from the numerous competitors in gonzo). Such was the case here and if you want to see Sasha pushed to her limits, this will serve you well as one of the roughest oral-only scenes I recall ever seeing her in, taking place largely in the restroom of the Red Light District headquarters. The 7 minute long Behind the Scenes feature was pretty decent but while it had some sex and preparation for the scenes, it concentrated most of the time on a couple of the ladies rather than give all of them a fair shake. There was also a photogallery, trailers, and a double sided DVD cover (advertising on the second side only though) but given the length of the movie, the extras weren't as vital to maintaining value as in shorter flicks.

Audio/Video Quality: Assault That Ass 9 was presented in the standard 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as most porn is shot these days, by director Jake Malone for Red Light District. The picture was decent and showed some improvement over older releases by Jake with often nice lighting, solid composition of most shots (making the women look more appealing than usual), and good fleshtones, though he still has a way to go to be as technically adept as some of his peers. There was no small, light watermark with the Red Light District logo on the bottom right hand corner of the picture this time; something a number of fans have railed about online through emails to me in recent years; showing the company listens to fans. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English and was generally well done although it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for a gonzo production. I could hear the gals moan, groan, and talk dirty so I was pleased with it but there wasn't any separation between the channels and the dynamic range wasn't all that great either.

Body of Review: Red Light District may currently be taking a short respite from producing scenes but there is no doubt in my mind that while many of their directors have left for greener pastures, they still have a lot of excellent footage to provide fans of gonzo porn. Their 402nd release is Assault That Ass 9, the sequel to Assault That Ass 8; directed by Jake Malone. While many of his titles are dedicated to rough sex (sometimes called abuse porn) and this one seems designed for it, the majority of action was strictly hardcore ladies having some great anal sex with men they seemed to like working with. If this appeals to you, here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used here at all:

Scene One: Alicia Angel, a curvy little brunette with an attractive face and all natural body was up first as she teased the camera outside by a rocky wall in her red & black fetish outfit that really looked hot on her. Scene Two: Kelly Broox, the hotty on the front DVD cover with the fine ass, was up next as she paraded around on the outdoor steps in a tiny red outfit (the one on the cover) and satin gloves. Her tease was very fetching and once she went inside to the couch, she found her partner to be Michael Stefano. While Michael has a different style than Manuel, I know a lot of male fans appreciate that he tends to be rougher in how he handles the ladies. That's not a big selling point for me but the title does include the word "assault" in it so it's only fair to suggest that consumers may want this kind of action as he provides. She gave him a very skillful and active hummer that led to him porking her ass in numerous positions. Like Alicia, she actively rode his shaft as it impaled her perfect pucker, a plus considering how many ladies simply let the man do all the work. There was ATM and some spanking added in throughout the scene but the manner in which she appeared to like the minor abuse seemed to add some extra value to the scene since it proves that ladies can get into the harder material too (regardless of what some might try to tell you, gender does not dictate a particular preference for sexual antics). It ended with him popping on her face like he was Peter North's kid brother (maybe he was off for a couple of extra days before the scene) and her eating some of it at the direction of Jake. How much of the scene was strictly a performance will be her little secret but a close examination of the action will suggest she really had some fun.

Scene Three: Luscious Lopez, a brunette with a perfectly fleshy ass, was up next as she teased the camera indoors in tiny pink shorts and purple fishnets; masturbating her ass along the way. The tease was once again a solid selling point of the scene and I've only seen her a few times but she seems to be an up and comer worth keeping an eye on. Some might claim that this was due to the size of his cock in her but given her comments about her boyfriend being so gifted, I found that a bit tough to swallow (pun intended). Fans will appreciate that she swallowed at the close of the scene and he gave her a decent wad to inhale, marking it as a good, if slightly flawed, scene to enjoy.

Scene Five: Haley Scott, a tiny gal that I tend to refer to as an anal princess, was up last in some purple lingerie and fishnet stockings that looked fine on her as she teased outdoors on the deck. Her strengths include that beautiful face and her ability to convincingly appear to be into all sorts of kinky sex acts, with her having as much experience as any of the other women in the cast. Her skills were so recognized as superior that Jake gave her two men to work with; studly John Strong and rough Michael Stefano, to enhance the dynamic from what the others could offer up. The guys took turns throughout the scene screwing her ass and except for Jake talking too much in the scene (something he needs to work on to improve the quality of his scenes by the way), she was extremely appealing. John took first dibs on her ass but both seemed to appreciate getting to work with top notch talent, the minimal oral (usually ATM related), and the resulting DP. Summary: Assault That Ass 9 was another solid notch in the porn resume of director Jake Malone that he can point to as an example of where he shines compared to some of his gonzo peers. His lighting and other technical skills are decent and his ability to pair performers with chemistry seems on par with many of the biggest names in business, even if he doesn't get credit for it like they do. For the levels of fuck for the buck, the ladies and their awesome performances, and the above average extras, I found Assault That Ass 9 to be well worth a rating of Highly Recommended. There were some rough edges in the movie in need of addressing but as long as Red Light District can offer movies as nicely balanced (and strokable) as this one, their critics will be thwarted. Those who dislike the gonzo format might want to avoid this one but the straightforward nature of Assault That Ass 9 couldn't be denied and people of both genders will be enjoying this one for a long time to come.
