Audio/Video Quality: Ass Jazz 2 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jazz Duro for distribution by Evil Angel. This was the third title in the Buttman Magazine Choice series, presumably an effort to recruit new directors that love ass as much as John "Buttman" Stagliano. The last release in the series I saw, Smother Me by Canadian anal prophet Uncle D was good enough to win the weekly spotlight title in the Blue Room Column earlier this year so I was really juiced up about seeing what Jazz could do for my libido in his second attempt. In terms of the picture quality, it was about as good as Buttman used to provide when he was starting out, full of intimate shots of pussy, tits, and most importantly, ASS, though there was a fair amount of grain to be seen. The lighting was much like a lower end gonzo flick too but the movie was saved as much by his compositional talent as the overall raw energy of the action. There were no compression artifacts and the other visual matters weren't bad but this was not quite up to the usual Evil Angel standards in terms of looks. The audio seemed to be presented in a monaural track cleaned up by 2.0 Dolby Digital processing, relying on the built in microphone to capture the limited vocals of the four scenes. It wasn't bad but I've found recent gonzo titles working on this area to be better and I expect no less from Evil Angel.

Body of Review: Jazz Duro is one of those sultry men that loves ass as much as most of us fans do, emulating his hero John Stagliano but taking a turn at directing anal related gonzo porn. I know a lot of others have made the leap from performing to directing lately (many with mixed results) but even a cursory glance at Ass Jazz 1 will convince most fans that he's the real deal. Thankfully, the folks at Evil Angel agreed with my assessment and now Jazz has released Ass Jazz 2, the second volume in the series devoted to fans of tease, ass, and hardcore fun with Brazilian babes. The back cover put it like this: "With five hot-assed Brazilian sluts, four rough n' nasty anal scenes and three hours of hard-core butt fetish, this second Ass Jazz volume establishes Jazz Duro as the Number One new gonzo XXX director. Playful blonde Jeana James shows her love of lust, joyfully teasing the camera and pleasing Jazz with a deep-throat blow-job, gag-spit a-flowing. Here's a brief glimpse into the four lengthy scenes, noting that no condoms were used at all:

Scene One: Jeana James, the curvy gal on the front DVD cover with powerful legs, a fleshy ass, and a face that looked more like mainstream actress Jessica Alba than the famous pornstar, was up first as she was awoken from her slumber to tease the camera in her tight jeans, red top and pink thong outside. She had a playful demeanor and it didn't take long for studly director Jazz Duro to assist her in performance but he backed off to let her strut her stuff all the same too. The technical qualities needed some spit & polish and not all the scenes were the very best they could be but the wealth of gorgeous glutes, the terrific tushies, and levels of high powered fuck for the buck made the relative lack of extras and other issues pale by comparison. Evil Angel has been on something of a hiring spree of late to expand their roster with such visionaries as Erik Everhard, Manuel Ferrara, and others; making me hope that Jazz Duro makes the next cut when it comes time to pick him up under contract (before someone else snatches him away (pun intended). In short, Ass Jazz 2 was a lot like the porn Evil Angel used to make before they refined and honed away most of their rougher edges, making it very stroke worthy and replayable for those of you wanting the real deal.
